I have called LACY KATZEN MANY TIMES AND THEY DO NOT ALLOW debtors to leave messages on the call. This is UNAMERICAN and wrong for people like me in their collections for debt collections. I have received very threatening letters from them in the past. They are a cold and cruel company. I want and need call back from them.Business response

This complaint can be closed. We reached out to the consumer with the phone number provided in this BBB complaint. Consumer was able to leave voicemail to get back to us to address her concerns. Consumer was given a secondary contact phone number if her primary contact is not available and the Collections Department phone number so she is always able to leave a message. Consumer was appreciative that all of her questions were answered.Initial Complaint

This company was sent by ******* ****** ****** ***** to serve paperwork for some woman I never heard of they continue to come to my house and harrass me even tho I am not the pers I’ve contacted them over and over but they will not stop I’ve asked them to stop I’m tired of being harrassed for someone else’s issue and I think it’s absolutely terrible this persons personal info was left at my doorstep more than once especially with identity theft being so high I can’t believe this is allowedBusiness response

We are limited to the amount of information we can provide due to the restrictions placed upon us by the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA). I have been making payments with this company on a collection account for around 6 years with no issues. I called today to try and lower my payments temporarily (6 months) due to a hardship which I explained on the call. I was told that it was not a valid hardship, was told I could not lower my payment, and if I didn't maintain the agreement then there would be a default judgment granted against me by the courts which would be enforceable in "multiple different ways". Claire was incredibly unprofessional, rude, and nasty, and had no interest in working with me in my current situation at all. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told that the attorney would "call me back," when asked when I was told "maybe after lunch". She had no interest in answering my questions or addressing my concerns, and did not care at all about the situation I'm currently in.Business response

This matter was escalated to a partner of Lacy Katzen LLP who returned Mr. *******’s call as per his request. They discussed Mr. *******’s matter in further detail and are in the process of negotiating an agreeable resolution pending a follow up email from Mr. ******* with more details.
