The Mohawk Valley Youth Hockey Associations commonly referred to as the Utica Jr. Comets lacks communication, transparency and timely responses to their consumers. In March we signed a commitment letter with the organization and unfortunately I signed without a price indicated on the form. In 2023-2024 season the price was $2200. We were told through the grapevine and then also on the website that the rate would go to $2600. I do have screen shots of that price with the listed included items. The organization does have a history of not following through on promised items. For example the 23-24 season it was indicated that all players would have a gym membership. That was not provided as well as a home tournament which was also not provided. The 24-25 registration fees came out the price listed was $3060. Clearly a huge jump. I inquired with the president of the organization as to why the jump. I did not get a response. I inquired with two members of the advisory committee and they gave me their “best guess.” They indicated more items were being provided. For example showcase fees, summer ice and skills sessions that would be separate from our two allotted ice slots a week. The problem is that the website is so incredibly vague as to what items are included I was requesting a more comprehensive list from the organization as to what was included because it was such a drastic jump. I have emailed twice to Tony M****** with no response. The two advisory members have not had lucky in getting questions answered. One even referred to him as “Oz” because no one has his phone number. I feel like this is a bait in switch and they purposefully are not listing included items so they can not be held accountable for them. I am looking for them to provide a comprehensive list of included items for our fee of $3060 and a follow through on those items.
