I’ve used TM Wuebbling for several years to prepare my taxes. I had no complaints until recently. •They never updated our address when we moved in 2020 (I assume she just rolled over our old information from previous years) and I did not notice this mistake until I looked at our prepared taxes for 2022. • After bringing this to her attention, it took over a month of back and forth emails to get it corrected and receive updated forms. •I made an account with the IRS this year and that is when I discovered that we owed a rather large amount from 2021 due to an “error” which resulted in an incorrect tax balance that year. The wrong amount was written/calculated. •The IRS sent a notice to the incorrect address, which was never received. •Penalties, fees, and interest has been accruing all this time. •I could never get through on the phone, and my messages were not returned in a timely manner. •I resorted to taking the forms/info to a different preparer to have them reviewed, in which I had to pay another fee. •several more small errors were found during this. •I reached out to see if they would cover any of the fees or interest that has accrued, or refund the amount that I paid to have the taxes prepared, since they were not done correctly. I also sent a picture of the note she took, in her own handwriting to document the amount that SHOULD have been written to avoid that mistake. To which Michelle responded saying that I am responsible because I signed the paper. •Tax preparers sign stating that they have done their due diligence and that the information they submit is correct. The correct information was given to her, and she wrote a different amount. I’m incredibly disappointed in the “response” from this company. They have taken absolutely no responsibility for the mistakes that they made or the inconvenience and stress this has caused.

We responded back to Mrs Powers and explained to her that she did not let us know they moved. We went over the tax return with her and she signed multiple papers that had her address on them and never mentioned to us that it was in-correct.

Like I said in the previous e-mails, we need the 1099/letter from the IRS for the child tax credit which we did not get and we were never told that their address was changed.  I included sign documents and the check to pay for the taxes, all had the address we used to prepare and summit the return.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 20633890, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

I will include the email that I sent, which informed you that we had sold our house. I will also include the forms I submitted to have our taxes done, that have our correct address all over them. The forms you had me sign, did not have an address on them. I will also include the note, written in your own handwriting, that’s say the correct number that should have been used.
I’m really not interested in going back and forth with you. I tried to give you several opportunities to make this right and operate in good faith. You know that you made a mistake and you are refusing to stand behind your work. I will be reporting to the IRS. Good luck to you.
      Regards,

      Alex Powers
