We used Petsuites many times, and was satisficed. However, the last time we boarded our dog, his tail was severely wounded and part of it had to be amputated. We boarded our dog Max at Petsuites Gahanna from July 23rd - Aug5th, as we went out of the country for our vacation. When we checked on him on July 28th, we found out that he got a scratch on his nose. On July 30th, we got a call and the person told me that Max's tail got bitten by another dog when they were taking him on his morning walk. We were told that the Max's tail was proximity to the other dog in the cage, and it grabbed the tail and that's how the injury happened. Upon reviewing the pictures, it looked deep, and Pet Suites took him to the Vernerian. They told us that the vet cleaned and put a few switchers and that he was recovering. When we returned I took the out dog for a follow-up, because he was in pain to the point that he would squat down and sit or walk in a different way. Later I learned from the vet that they amputated two vertebral bones in his tail due to the original traumatic injury. Petsuits did pay for the initial visit and the emergency surgery. Its been over 9 days as of this writing, and he is still on pain medication, and I paid the vet for the followup visit. we paid Petsuites over $600 for the boarding. The point is that this should not have happened in the first place. I don't understand how a violent dog was able to grab Max's tail. We gave them a whole dog, and now he is coming back to us not the same way he went to pet suites, and that is very disapointing. Appropriate settlement would be to reimburse me for the followup vet bills and take corrective actions so that viscous dogs are separated from gentle dogs at all times.
