On August 7, 2023, I received a letter from a 3rd party collections agency (****** notifying me of a $1,896.55 outstanding balance due to Ohio Gastroenterology Group, Inc. ("OGG"). I was unaware that there was an outstanding balance, so I called OGG to obtain more information about it. I had a procedure done at OGG back in December 2020. Apparently, my medical insurance did not cover the entire cost, so the balance was my responsibility. I then called my medical insurance company to confirm this information was true. My complaint is that I was never properly notified by OGG that I had an outstanding balance. I learned that my address on the OGG statements had a typographical error (missing part of my street name) and I never received them over the past 2.5 years. OGG admitted to the error and corrected it. My phone number on file was correct, but I have no phone calls/voicemails from OGG. If I was properly contacted, I would have made the necessary payments. Now that I have been assigned to a collections agency, I do not want this to negatively impact my credit report. I am requesting that a correction be made to my credit report given the administrative error made by OGG. I am willing to work with OGG and *** on the outstanding balance.Business response

We did not have the correct address; we will accept payment and will remove the account from collections. This will not be reported to the credit bureau. I will have our office reach out to you.Customer response

Dear BBB,
I received a Business Response for my Complaint #********.
I will accept the Business Response if we can agree to a payment plan. Due to the large amount, I am unable to pay the entire balance at once.
Can you please communicate my payment plan request to the Business?
