I was in an accident on 3/06/20 in which Gurvis law firm handled my case. The case has been settled. And they supposed to have withheld $300 in a trust to pay ********. I don’t know what they did with that $300 because ******** was never paid. Instead I was charged and ended up having to pay. I’m am livid. This is not right or fair. I have the paperwork where they stated this $300 was withheld

“Ms. **** is correct that her accident was on March 6th, 2020 and settled in February 2021 with payment issued to the Ms. **** in that same month. From that settlement Ms. **** received in February of 2021, $300 was held in trust from her settlement. The $300 is held in trust to pay back ***** ****** ********* as it is required to pay this back. We held $300 in trust as we were awaiting the final lien from the ***** ** ***** ********, which does take some time to receive. We received the final lien in for $23.32 and paid on January 13th, 2022 to the ***** ******** ******** ** ****** ******** and issued the remainder of the settlement money held in trust back to Ms. **** on January 13th, 2022 in the amount of $276.68.”

      Thank you,

I filled a claim with this company on 09/20 in order to recover from my wreck. The company reached out to me via phone call right after my wreck and offered me their services. The company kept in touch with me for the first month after that nothing. In early 2021 around February I called to get an update on my case. I was told my lawyer died and that my case was sent to the Ohio office. This was not communicated with me I had to inquire to find out this information. At that point I was told a ***** ******** was my new attorney and I would hear from him soon. ***** ******** has never called me or even called me back after I left messages. I started calling the NC office to get someone on the phone for an update and spoke with a ******. ****** was able to get in touch with my adjuster and get the case settled. I accepted my offer from the adjuster in the beginning of Nov. 2021 but have yet to hear from my Atorney. It’s to the point now where the Ohio office has my cellphone number blocked so I have to call from a different office phone here on base everyday to get an answer. I’ve been lied to numerous time by the customers service reps and was even told last week that “***** doesn’t wanna talk to you”. This company is more unprofessional than one can imagine. I literally just wanna close out my case and move on but the company doesn’t care enough about their customers to do that.

Mr. ***** is correct that our North Carolina attorney passed away at the beginning of the year.  At that point we sent letters to all of our NC clients to inform them.  Attorney ******** followed the cases out of the Ohio Office until [a new North Carolina attorney could be hired.  Attorney ****** ***** was hired in about one month.  As he got up to speed I (attorney ********) spoke with Mr. ***** multiple times.  The demand to settle was sent in the end of January 2021 (it was ready but did not get out before the North Carolina attorney passed away).  Both I and Mr. ***** stared calling the adjuster with the insurance company one month after the demand was sent.  We both had difficulty getting ahold of the adjuster assigned, after multiple calls and leaving messages.  This was upsetting because Mr. ******* wife had been settled in early 2021.  Both I and ****** spoke with Mr. ***** many times.  I finally got an answer from the adjuster September 3, 2021.  I called and spoke with the client and informed him we wanted to do a recorded statement in order to answer the adjuster's questions and try to fast track a settlement.  I informed Mr. ***** that he would need to conduct the statement.  It took some time to schedule and complete the statement due to it being necessary to work with everyone's schedule and once again get ahold of the adjuster.  The statement was done November 11, 2021.  Mr. ***** with the consent of Mr. ***** settled the case in the end of November.  I sent settlement documents to Mr. ***** to complete December 3, 2021.  After many calls with Mr. ***** and the adjuster the check finally arrived and processed.  I called client on December 16, 2021 and explained the the check was going out and we would overnight it so he had the money for the holidays.  Mr. ***** was very happy in the end and tank us for all our assistance.

We certainly care about or clients and I told Mr. ***** many times the length of time it was taking to settle his claim was unusual and I would be upset as well.  However, we were doing everything we could to resolve the matter.  I spoke with Mr. ***** many times and knew his case well.  As to blocking his number I never heard of this and do not even believe it is possible with our phone system.  We have many clients that call several times per week if they are excited to get their case done.  We are very aware of this and understand that comes with being a law firm.  If I ever heard someone say Mr. ******** does not want to talk to you they would not work with us any longer.  I am osorry that Mr. ******* cae took so long but feel we did communicate with him and pushed ot get it done as best we could.  In the end Mr. ***** was happy which is what we always want with our clients.
