We signed the contract 6/7/2024. The roof was completed and we made final payment 7/8/2024. We have requested at least a half dozen times a completed work order and a copy of the warranty, for our insurance company. Our insurance agent also called them. In discussion with the salesman over the phone, he said the warranty is on the contract, which I went over with him and we agreed it is not on the contract. The contract says a copy can be picked up at the company location. I went there and found an empty storefront with the company name over the top. I could see some random debris inside, but no one was there, the lights were off, the door was locked, and no one came when I knocked on the window. I have contacted the salesman several times, the project supervisor twice, and whoever answers the phone at the company number numerous times. Each time I was told the documents would be sent in a day or a few days or that she would give my message to her manager. When my insurance agent called, he was told the documents would be sent. We have not gotten a single call back or email. We want a copy of a completed work order for our insurance company and we want a copy of the warranty.Customer response

I hired this company to install a new metal roof and gave them thousands of dollars as a deposit. A crew showed up one morning and was at my home for about an hour before they knocked on my door to advise me that they could not move forward with the install due to lack of equipment. I then called the sales **** **** to ask him what was going on and he said that the job was under bid and therefore would need an additional $5k-$10k more from me to complete it. I told him that would not work and Id need my deposit money back asap. He apologized and told me that hed send me the money or even hand deliver it neither of which have come to fruition. I then Called the owner ******************* to explain what happened and he advised that my check wouldve been mailed out last Wednesday. Ive never received a check and nobody in the company will return my calls, emails or text messages.Business response

I hired The Metal Roof Company to install a new roof on April 9, 2021. On January 20, 2022 I contacted them about water damage to my kitchen walls and ceiling. I worked with their employee Adam, he stated that the caulking had pulled away from the east side of the chimney, he would send a crew to fix this, which he did. I also had Blackburns Chimney Sweeps out to look at the chimney, they also agreed that The Metal Roof Company had caused my wall/ceiling damage. I called The Metal Roof again, set up an appointment with the owner, Dan T. He never showed up, said he was running late and would come the next week. I never heard from him again. I want my walls and ceiling fixed, they caused this damage and should make things right.Business response

I have contacted Adam, and he is going to get you into the Service Queue and take a look at this again for you.
Project notes indicates that Prior examination by the installer, who was sent back to inspect his work, showed the issue was with the Chimney itself.
I've noted that you had a Chimney company come out and tell you otherwise. I will say this is a common practice for contractors accross trades to place blame on the "other guy", when they don't want to take on a job.
This is an unfortunate battle we face alot here , when dealing with claims of this nature. In the end, the customer decides who to believe, and often we are placed into a situation where regardless of fault, we are paying for the claims. Because of this, we are motivated to do a very thourough investigation before comitting to repair damage caused by things we cannot validate were due to our work.
If there are some doubts about this job, we can have Adam come out again with Dan and verify this claim. Once the claim is verified we can begin a solution for you. If the work in question is truly at fault, we will get a solution to the table. We will make anything that was our responsibility right.
Adam will be reaching out to schedule a time with you. Please allow us to address this through our normal service department process. The BBB is meant to arbitrate any disputes that cannot be solved internally.
I believe this is a matter we can solve for you in some way, or come to some reasonable understanding, but I would need to get this claim back into production's hands and out of Marketing / Legal here.
