      Good afternoon,

We delivered and installed a 24x30x10 building. This building was installed on 05-23-2024. I have a copy of a signed invoice from the day of the installation. With no notes about anything being wrong with the building. I don't know what "missing parts" Mr. Kelley is referring to. The radiant heat product we used is two different types but rated equally, we have two different vendors. The contractor would have taken from our warehouse what we currently had in stock, again SAME R VALUE. He mentions something about missing panels? But,I don't see where they are missing on the pictures he provided. We did send out a crew after he called the office and said he had an issue with the building, Mr. Kelleys dad told the contractor to leave and threatened to beat him up. We hadn't heard from him since.

Hired this company to build a 30’x60’ garage and install windows and doors. Job started June 29,2023 and was to be completed in three days. Workers left on July 2,2023 with job not finished and sliding windows installed sideways. I was promised that the job would be finished within two weeks. It is now going on three months and the job is still not finished. I keep getting the runaround from the company and excuses after excuses with not completion date given. I cannot complete electric or finish inside work until outside work is done. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Owner (****) tells employees to not give me a date as they have failed to comply with previous dates given. Maybe a call from you will solve my issue before I have to hire a lawyer.

DO NOT ORDER from this company. Our building was supposed to be delivered Jan. 11. Installer got stuck in the mud (after being 4 hours late because he had a zoom meeting with his attorney). Refused to put the building up unless we paid him an additional $1500, because we refused to cover his tow bill...Second delivery was scheduled for 1-25. We let them know there was a hill and it was muddy. Added an additional $450 to our bill because they would have to carry the building parts up the hill instead of drive. Totally fine. We offered to rent a skid steer with forks to move the building parts. They said no, we will carry it. After arriving 4 hours late (with no notice), the installers refused to deliver it saying we had no gravel down (we have base the whole way down) it was muddy, and there was a hill. ALL of which they were informed of prior to delivery and insisted it would be fine so we didn't rent the skid steer. Refused to put up the building AGAIN. Now fighting for a refund of our deposit. Installers are lazy. Want a perfect driveway in perfect weather and perfect conditions. ANS backs them up saying "well we aren't there to see the conditions." HORRIBLE COMPANY

In the attached singed order there was never any mention of us not being able to pull up to 20' to install this building, per our contract Ref #11. There was NEVER mention to the fact that this was going in the woods. When the contractor first arrived he did get stuck and said there was no way that was within 20' from the driveway to were you wanted the building installed you are in the middle of no where. It is a half a mile long dirt driveway and there is a small trail to way in the back of the woods.... Were maybe some tress were taking down. That is were the building is" GOING". The first contractor got stuck and after he realized where you wanted the building he did say he would charge an additional $1500.00 You declined to pay, instead you complained so   ANS offered to pay $500.00 but our contractor still declined! He said there was " NO WAY " he could get that done! So he left.
After only a week from the first time ANS quickly got you back on schedule. We spoke to **** your husband: Who assured **** that he had more gravel brought out and levelled and there wasn't going to be a problem and they had CUT INTO THE HILL ! We sent out a second contractor and nothing had been done!!! We have almost a 10 minute video that shows the walk from the driveway to what we believe us where the building is going. **** expressed to the first contractor that they are wanting this building out in the middle of no where because they want to make it a cabin or something along the lines so that definitely explains the placement of this building. Unfortunately these customers deny how EXTREMLY difficult this installation is and wanna minimize the unlevel-ness and REMOTE area... They don't want to pay anything extra to have this done. ANS will not install under these terms and property  lay out conditions. They breached contract from the very beginning by not mentioning what circumstances this property lay out was. We still tried to work with them the entire time, we emphasized how important additional ground and area prep was and they promised us it had been all taken care before we sent out a second crew!
In reference to the statement of our contractors being lazy: No one would ever hand load this 30x36x10 fully enclosed garage and then choose to NOT want to install it! Specially because they are "lazy" ! Not to mention the fact that our Defiance location is 3 hours away EACH WAY from the customers house, also as a contractor they don't get paid if they don't install so I find it hard to believe that they would hand load everything, pay tolls and then drive 6 hours total to purposely NOT INSTALL!
After two tries on this project you were informed we would cancel out the order. Due to the property and your expectations.  Please ref. #14 on signed order form. ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON REFUNDABLE! (ATTACHED COPY OF YOUR SIGNED CONTRACT)

I am rejecting this response because: Every bit of this response from ANS Steel is 100% inaccurate so rather than addressing every single inaccuracy I will just refer the BBB and any future clients of ANS Steel to the reviews you will find when you Google this business. Their responses to customer complaints are unprofessional and juvenile as well as, in my case, fully fabricated. Run, don't walk, away from these people.

Contract , date of purchase 6/3/2022. Building was constructed 8/3/2022. The building I purchased took two days to construct, at a cost of $22,512.65. Currently trying to get some problems resolved. My issues are uneven cut panels that due not match to the build, they are jagged and sharp. There is rust already starting to form on the painted trim and side panels to the building, due to the paint being scratched so bad during installation. I've reached out to the company, even the owner and tried to get theses issues resolved. They kept telling me they would get me scheduled for repair, but weeks would go by and no communication. Finally they sent out a crew to replace the trim and bad side panels. The crew that showed up only came with four pieces of side trim, which were completely different from what was initially installed. The crew installing the new trim and cut some of the J channel, leaving it sharp and jagged and exposed. I've called and emailed roughly 20 times in the past two and a half months. I've sent several emails and text pictures to the owner and they keep putting me off. They say they're coming to fix the problems, but can not give me a date of when they are coming. They refuse to call me back, the only time they will tell me anything is when I call multiple times in a day. When I called to schedule the building to be constructed, they had me scheduled with in a week. I'm being drug along now that they have my money. They will say that they're going to fix the problems, but at this point I can't even get anyone to call me back. This is absolutely the worst company that I've ever dealt with, I regret ever dealing with them. I just want the issues fixed. If not some kind of a refund.

      Good morning.

We have a file created along with the list of concerns that you have communicated to our manager and complaint department. I do show a work order to get these problems fixed. We will replace all the J trim and send out the additional pieces of trim. The last installers that was recently sent out reported that we needed to send out additional materials, he wasn't able to do the complete repair.

In no way have we ignored your calls, so I apologize that you feel that way. Our first attempt to get this fixed was uncessefull but we are most definitely not shying away from making this right.  Our scheduler has reported to me that the next time we are going out to your area is Nov.9th the time frame is 2-4 pm. At that point we plan to get this building to your satisfaction.

Please give us till then and if at that point we can make this a satisfactory install we can then discuss some sort of reimbursement.

      Thank you for you patience.

The date of transaction began on August 9,2021. The amount we paid was $24,766.90-and was paid in full prior to the beginning of the job. We did receive the metal structure. This project has been ongoing for over a year now. Everything had to be paid for up front. The quality is lacking and the time that it took for this project to be completed is still ongoing, and we are having to pay other contractors to repair their errors due to them not returning any phone calls as of 09/13/2022 or them honoring their contract. I am asking that I be reimbursed for the cost of the other contractors that I had to pay. I had asked several times for **** to come out and see the workmanship but he never did to my knowledge. The location for the structure is in Lewiston, Michigan and every time we contacted them with a problem they would tell us we would have to wait till they had another job out our way, if the location was such a problem maybe they should have told us that from the beginning. The only thing I was told was that their employees are tired of dealing with me, but what they don’t realize is I have never dealt with anyone so unprofessional in my life. The only thing I really want is the structure I paid for up front, and to be reimbursed for the other contractors that I had to pay. Please understand our frustrations stem directly from the lack of communication during this process. Phone call to ***** and **** on 09/22/2022 regarding the problems with the structure, and again I ask him to make a trip to Lewiston to look at the work I had to do to repair the problems that ANS Steel Structures had not addressed. We discussed the price of all the repairs I had made, which was a total of $2,300.00, and **** refused to pay that amount which also included my time for the repairs I was able to complete. **** then said he would see me in court.

We have fixed all the issues related to the building that we have caused, other than the overhead door part. The customization and additional work created by the customer is something we don't cover per the contract. The parts for the overhead door are on back order and once those are available we can fix the overhead door as necessary.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

A leaking roof due to the screws being over tighten and stripped is their responsibility since that was part of the structure that was included in the build, paid for in full, and was part of the contract. The parts that they ordered were not needed and we do not need them. On May 5,2022 ***** left a voice message stating “Yeah hi **** it's ****** over at ANS steel buildings, hey sorry I missed your call our call volume is pretty high this morning um I'm assuming you're calling in regards to when we're gonna be back out to the area we don't have a definite date yet we won't probably be out that way for another 2 to 3 weeks but as soon as we have a date we will call you any questions you got my cell number is ***********…”
On 9/22/2022 I spoke with ***** regarding when they were going to come out to fix the roof leaks and repair the door. I asked ***** if they had the hardware for the door; I was placed on hold for 5 minutes and when she came back I was told she had the hardware, but the hardware was not the problem, the problem was the springs. One spring was installed backwards and both springs were wrong for the door. The bottom line is I don’t think they knew how to repair the door. Since we have not been able to nail down a date or have them contact us regarding the repairs we decided to hire **** ********** to come look at the door.  He lowered the drums, was able to reuse the hardware and ordered the proper springs. The following week he installed the springs and had the door working.  ***** at ANS told me that the last guys that came out were also supposed to bring more roofs capping on their next time out to this job, which has never happened.
They “Only Customization Done” was fixing the leaky roof, and fixing the door so nobody would get hurt and we could use the structure.  With the original complaint I uploaded photos of the poor workmanship and all the receipts for the additional costs we incurred for the repairs that they never completed.  In regards to the 10” x 16” door they had only been out twice to try to repair it, and I truly feel that they were being untruthful on having the parts for the door and knowing how to repair the door.  In closing, I just wanted to let you know what a frustrating experience this has been, and that if at least one of the times I asked **** to come out and see the workmanship I believe he would understand my frustration, but he never did to my knowledge. We have absolutely no reason to lie as you can see by the pictures and receipts that were uploaded.  I am only asking for the additional money I had to pay out to complete the structure, which is what I had originally paid for in full.  I think this is only a fair request since I kept my end of the contract.

      Sincerely,

      **** **********

The order was in fact placed on April 04/21/2021. He in the process changed his order multiple times... HE NEVER PAID IN FULL FOR THE BUILDING PRIOR TO INSTALLATION, THAT IS A LIE! I've attached a copy of 2 checks. We require only a 10% deposit along with a signed contract his check for the 10% was $2,322.00 CK# **** it dates back to 04/08/2021. The final payment was paid when we went to do the installation. At that time is when **** * paid us Ck# ********** for remaining balance of $22,444.90 deposited on 08/16/2021. I also attached a copy of the check along with a BANK DEPOSIT RECEIPT. I don't know why he is right off the bat lying!!! We never demand payment in full prior to delivery.  We waited for months to install the building until he could get ready.  When he finally was ready, it was already August. At that time **** ** was informed that our door manufacturer was running into a delay with receiving the door parts. I informed **** ** that it would be best to go with someone local for the doors... I told him that the wait time 12 to 14 weeks approximately. He insisted he wanted to wait for them, he only wanted to deal with one contractor for the full project. So, we did everything but the doors at the time of the installation...  We did short him some panels at the time of the initial installation, but we went out and installed them as soon as we could get back out his way.  We definitely were held up for the door parts, but also ended up getting them and got him serviced.

He is claiming he wants reimbursement for other contractor's cost. But the costs are for additional things he wanted to add to the building... In some of the attachments you can see where they have added wood and all sorts of additional reinforcing that the building didn't require. We install per state & local codes. We submitted Engineered Certified plans for this project and if the inspector had felt or found that this building wasn't installed correctly, he would have FAILED the building!!! That was not the case we passed inspection.  **** ** had also shared that he wasn't satisfied with his concrete guy and that he was currently suing him because he wasn't happy with cement slab... So maybe **** ** just isn't happy with contractors in general! We sent out multiple crews over the curse of this year every contractor we sent out reported that the building was complete. **** ** kept calling and complaining one thing and another, he harassed the staff demanding another crew to come out, he wanted additional work done to his lean to... We just didn't even want to entertain that, since he wasn't ever happy with anything that we did. WE also didn't understand if he was truly so unhappy with the initial install why he would want to continue to want to do business with us.  He lastly spoke to **** and **** made him offered **** * a $500.00. **** ** laughed at him and made a racist remark at that time **** said he would just see **** * in court.... We are still willing to send him a check for his troubles regarding how long the door parts took to come in, but the amount he is demanding is way out of line. Please see attached documents. On his copy of invoice where he signed for the building, he makes NO notes of not being dis-satisfied with anything. We made notes of him missing panels and sent those out. We held up our end of the contract and he just refuses to stop calling....

We purchased a building 8 weeks ago. It was poorly constructed, leaks inside, entrance door won't open, steel siding not bolted in, gap in the roof etc. They finished the building after dark, the next morning we saw the mess they made and the poorly put together structure. We contacted them immediately, and they still have not repaired the building. They come out take pics and do no repairs. We either would like this building repaired to work properly immediately, or a refund of our money back to us. We have pics we can upload of the poorly put together structure. They promised us they would fix the building and make it right, to this date we are just getting the run around. We can't use it the way it stands now. We are prepared to take this to our attorney and go to court if necessary. But we would like to see if you can resolve this issue first. Thanks

We have the customer on the schedule to repair the building next week, to make all the necessary fixes. We sent someone out to fix the building but more material was required to make all the repairs, however we did get them back on schedule to do the work.
