****** ********** quoted a large historical restoration job for me. His quote was chosen and work began as scheduled. Weekly draws were paid to Mr. ********** per our contract and time frame for scope of work. After the 12 week time frame it becamme very obvious to us both that they would miss the deadline and their full payment of all contracted labor repairs etc had not been completed. Ironically it was at this point that Mr. ********** had some major personal issues. I had more the generous understanding of his personal situation but fall turned into winter and into spring of the following year and the job is not even half way completed to the full scope. But full payment was been paid. I have been off an on in contact with Mr. ********** with out any follow through. I have attempted to adjust the scope to at least get the job to completion but still to no avail. Additionally ****** **********, whether himself or his un supervised crew, took grinders to historical ornate trim that was supposed to be stripped to be -. The 134 year old trim profile is all but lost. The doors look like a toddler sanded them with streaks and divots every where and they ruined the original wood floor with gouges when they removed the floor above it. The original floor we were trying to expose is un-saveable. This project was supposed to be to historical preservation standards which is why ****** won the bid due to his perceived experience. When I asked him to file an insurance claim agains his liability policy for his crews complete destruction of history and craftsmanship of the original 1834 construction he not only stalled for 6 months to even file the claim but then I was informed his policy was not actual for historical work and that the damage was perceived as "unsatisfactory workmanship and not covered". Even if it was this trim is irreplaceable. Re Milled to match would still degrade the value of the original trim.
