I am filing a formal complaint against R&T Yoder Electric regarding their unethical business practices and unsatisfactory workmanship for an electrical project at my property, where I have faced numerous issues and now find myself in an untenable situation. R&T Yoder Electric engaged in blatant price gouging.
R&T Yoder Electric took advantage of the situation with an incompetent GC and exploited the absence of proper oversight. They did not provide any estimate or quote before commencing work, leaving me completely in the dark about the expected cost of the project. R&T Yoder Electric recently presented me with an invoice demanding an exorbitant sum of $49,351.13 for the electrical work they performed.
Upon consulting a new GC, I discovered that the actual cost of reworking their subpar electrical work amounts to a mere $3,520.46. This stark contrast in pricing leads me to believe that R&T Yoder Electric has predatory pricing practices, exploiting the lack of oversight to inflate their charges significantly.
R&T Yoder Electric’s highly unsatisfactory work is being redone. The incompetent GC that hired them failed to supervise and ensure the delivery of satisfactory results. I fired the GC and have a new GC to rectify the total rehab including electrical work.
I firmly believe that R&T Yoder Electric's demand for $49,351.13 is grossly unfair and unjustifiable. The amount they are requesting is over ten times the market rate for the rework that is being carried out by the new GC.

This communication is in response to complaint #********. We did electrical work on a 4 unit apartment building at *** ** **** **** ************ ****. The building had been vacant and had undergone significant vandalism, including removal of wiring from much of the building. The inspector informed us of what needed to be done to bring the building up to code. We informed the customer that we could proceed on a Time and Material basis, and per the email thread he agreed for us proceed. The Scope of Work Completed that details the materials used and the work completed is attached. The customer informed us we do not have proof that he approved us to proceed, so when we showed him proof via email thread, he switched to say that our work was inadequate. We passed the inspection for our work completed. Attached is the copy of the Electrical permit.

The work is having to be redone. They were not supervised by GC. They did not provide a quote, and attempted work without prior approval, that was never verified by GC. They were not authorized to charge what they did.
