Went to store on July 26, 2002. Employee said may vacuum needed belt change. I said okay. I picked it up, took it home and it still didn't work. I took it back requesting a refund of belt and labor and tax = total $27.73. He refused. A few days later I took it to a competitor. He turned it on and said: your motors shot. He said there are no parts available for that Hoover model. He said he would throw it away for me , which he did. I ended up buying a used vacuum.Business response

The General Manager informed BBB that the consumer took his vacuum to a competitor, who told him that the motor was shot. The General Manager stated that its employees would not have replaced the belt if the motor was in that condition. The business' policy is that the vacuum must be reevaluated if the repair was done over 30 days prior. The vacuum cannot be reevaluated because the consumer no longer owns the vacuum. The General Manager does not feel the consumer is due a refund at this time.
