On March 25, 2022 I sent an email to Aldrich Landscape, as I have done the past few years, listing the projects I wanted to get done this year. Unlike previous years, *** Aldrich did not come out, but after emails and calls sent a contract for time and expenses. I signed the contract and returned it on June 28, 2022. On August 5, 2022, a crew of young men came to the house and there was no supervisor with them or when they left. I have a brick wall surrounding some trees in my front yard and it was settling and needed to be fixed. Bricks were taken out and put back in haphazardly -¬some were vertical and some were horizontal and some were broken and left out. I was busy working in my backyard. On September 20, 2022, I did a closer inspection of what had been done. The bricks (caps) on the top of the wall were not even stable enough to stand on. I immediately took pictures and texted *** Aldrich and emailed his wife. I assumed that Mr. Aldrich would come out and we could discuss what needed to be done to get this wall the way it was supposed to be. I emailed 5 times and was always told that *** was busy, or one time a meeting was set up and he never came out because he was busy. Evidently he came out October 25 or 26, but never r
someone in a supervisory capacity come out and looked at the project before the crew came out or had come out with them, then hopefully they would have noticed this. On October 26, 2022, I emailed Aldrich and asked to set up a meeting with Mr. Aldrich to get an estimate on getting the wall replaced. As of this time, I have not heard anything from them.Business response

In response to complaint ********.
When we came out to Mrs. *******’s house in August, 2022, we did various small jobs for her.
There was a crew leader on site. She wanted the brick wall in front fixed. Our crew leader
attempted to fix some of the wall but the wall was glued together. He was able to move a few
bricks & added some top soil behind to make 1 section more stable. The bricks were very brittle
& a few were cracked.
We emailed Mrs. ******* on October 26, 2022 to let her know that the wall was glued together
& that we couldn’t fix the crookedness & was very brittle. We suggested either eliminating the
wall all together or removing it & installing new. We told her we could not do this until the
spring, 2023.
The wall in question was not something that Aldrich Landscape had built, it was very old &
brittle & had been there for many years.
She then hired a different company to take down the old wall & build her a new one.
We spoke with the company who installed a new wall for her this year. She wanted him to
change the invoice for her 3 times – splitting up the labor & materials.
We did try to repair it at her request, but it could not be repaired & we let her know that. Aldrich
Landscape had about $50.00 in labor plus some top soil.
Aldrich Landscape is not responsible to pay $3,776.94 in labor to her to have another company
tear down the old wall & build her a new wall.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because Aldrich made no attempt to address the problem. I waited over 4 weeks after first texting *** Aldrich and many emails to his office to have him come out. He never rang the doorbell or made any attempt to personally talk with me. I then emailed *** Aldrich and asked him to come out and discuss fixing the wall and that was OVER 6 months ago. I had to get another company to come out and the damage that his people caused.

I was very happy with your services up until my neighbor saw your son knock my gas meter over while on his lawn tractor. In the conversation, when we talked about the gas meter, which was replaced by Columbia Gas, you said your “son” didn’t say anything. My neighbor said he had headphones and most likely didn’t realize he did it. During this cutting season your employees also damaged the bottom of my siding. In the background, I heard your husband? say that he could fix it. Since then, on every bill I returned to you, I asked about my siding. I have heard no response from you. I went with your company because I had my siding fixed from a previous lawn cutter and did not want that to happen again. Please let me know what you are going to do. I cannot continue with your company, and I am going to look for someone more careful, unless this can be resolved. I would appreciate it if your husband? Could fix the bottom of my siding around the house. I personally replaced the basement well cover that was sliced by trimmer.Business response

[BBB was provided response via email.]I have made contact with ****** ******** by email a couple of times & he has responded.We will be taking care of the repair as soon as possible. He has extra pieces of siding in his garageso it will be matched up.I will keep in contact with him until the repair is completed.Customer response
