On April 29, 2022 we were at the City of Columbus in the Building and Zoning department at an appointment with Mr. ****** ****** when Jimi Terrell W*** (alias Terrell M**** walked in and said Hi Auntie. We were all surprised. I explained to Mr. T***** Jimi is my nephew. Jimi told me he was a contractor and Mr. T***** confirmed it. We talked about Jimi doing the project so the permit could get approved. Jimi presented a contract to add a room addition on the back of our home. We paid the cash down payment Jimi required.

Jimi immediately begun to call us asking for more money up front. Jimi said if you give me all the money I can have the room completed within the month. We believed him and we wanted the room completed as quickly as possible for health reasons.

Jimi never fully started the job. Jimi came out and ripped the existing concrete slab that was recently added and dug a hole in the yard requesting more and more money without doing anything. Jimi took our money and used us.

Its been over a year and the work has not been completed. Jimi no longer answers our phone calls, text or emails. We believe Jimi used our money to find housing because he is unable to obtain housing on his own due to his criminal record but regardless we want to be reimbursed.

We had no clue we were being scammed by a relative and we paid a total of $33,102 per his request even though our deal was $20,000.

      Jimi Terrell W*** can be reached at his other business called ****** **** ***** ** **** ** ********** ******* ********* **** ***** or via phone at the following numbers: ###-###-####, ###-###-#### or ###-###-####.
