*****, Thank you for your call. To recap our conversation regarding my concernes with the company, Operator Headgap; I knew of this business as I had ordered a replacement optical drive from them some years ago they had solid state hard drives that could replace the original ones, upgrade the processor, ***, etc. So, since I was using my MAC G4 Quicksilver much more often lately doing radio ***** and making various simple effects and so on, I decided to have them upgrade several components to hopefully extend the life of this workhorse. I shipped the tower to Operator Headgap on August 31, 2022 via *** and they received it on September 3, 2022, prior to the holiday weekend.I instructed them to replace two of the three internal hard drives with the solid-state ones they have that are specifically formatted for this system, along with maxing out the *** from 768 Mb to 1.5 Gb. they added a USB card and a dual 1 gig processor , replacing the original 867 mhz processor. One solid-state hard drive was to replace the hard drive with the operating system and the second one to replace a 100 gig hard drive that held basically data files, photos, etc. In addition, I requested the Superdrive (CD and DVD optical drive) be replaced, since the one in the tower had a piece missing and could potentially allow dust and dirt access. The newer Optical drive was also much faster at burning these discs.I asked that the third hard drive be left as it was, since it worked fine and they did not have a solid-state drive that could replace its size. Initially, I was told over the phone the prices of these parts and it would take about 1.5 hours labor. However, during the second week they had my tower, I requested an estimate and was told, No(The only person I spoke with was named *******. Not sure if that is the correct spelling.). I also made this request the third week and received the same response.I had sent them an email listing the prices of the parts as they were quoted to me over the phone and asked for conformation. I received no response. Actually, I have yet to receive one single response to about seven or eight emails I have written to date, including a few that I also forwarded to my bank, who I have contacted disputing the charges. When I finally got my computer back on about October the suitcase door for the tower, that allows access to the interior of the tower was damaged and the door has difficulty remaining closed. An external back-up hard drive was added (500 gig) inside the tower, improperly mounted and without any electrical power. The optical drive was not recognized by the system, it was completely dead. They stated that the hard drive added to the interior was partitioned with the operating system as a back-up and the 400 gigs remaining could be used for extensive storage, even though I had been told that the 250 gig hard drive could not be used, since the system was supposedly not able to recognize haed drives over 128 gigs in size. That hard drive had worked perfectly, until they upgraded my computer. In addition to all of this, they have not responded to one single email to date. I had no idea that this would become such a calamity! The 250 gig hard drive, that I did not need touched, held my entire iTunes library; about ****** tracks of music, and sound effects, etc. So, with all of this said, I contacted my bank and filed a dispute and took my computer to another company to obtain, **************** ************************************************************. Their phone number is ************** and had a gentlemen named, ****** examine it and provide his written assessment. I will attempt to attach that as well as the billing from Operator Headgap. It is unfortunate that businesses feel that this is appropriate way to treat their customers. I appreciate your call and please let me know if you have any other questions. Kind regards, ************************* ************
