Originally reached out to Remnant Carpet *** in late June, 2023 and spoke to *****, who later identified himself as the owner. We asked for a quote to replace the carpet in our recently purchased home. After receiving the quote, we made some adjustments to the quote (June 30) that had them remove the upstairs carpet and pad, but leaving the tack strip.The install took place on (July 6th, 2023). Remnant carpet *** damaged freshly painted baseboards and walls, removed the closet doors for the installation and left without putting them back, showed a lack of respect for my property and belongings by moving furniture and setting a chair on top of my laptop and iPad (No pictures of this, as I moved the chair immediately once I noticed it sitting on my electronics.) They also removed the tack strip upstairs.My biggest complaint is when I called ***** (July 10th, 2023) to address the tack strip being removed upstairs, he acknowledged his company was at fault, and said Remnant would replace the tack strip at no cost when they do the upstairs carpet. I explained that his company would not be doing the upstairs carpet based on the quality of work they did for the rest of the house, and that I simply wanted his company to put the closet door back on the hinges and replace the tack strip that they were not supposed to remove upstairs.He then became very unpleasant and hung up on my twice. He said he didn't want to come back to my home and fix his companies mistakes. I did eventually get him to agree to send an installer to put the closet door on, but he only offered a $25 check in regards to the tack strip. All I'm requesting is that he fix the mistake he originally agreed to. I'd be more than happy to return his $25 for a completed job. If not, I will pursue this matter in small claims due to his lack of professionalism.Business response

This was a misunderstanding I tried to address it and he would not understand - it was something I was willing to take care of but he would not let me proceed. I offered partial refund.
