I co-signed on a lease at ********* at ********* for my mom back in April and it has been nothing but problems since she moved in. She has mildew growing on the seal to her freezer. They came out and sprayed "mildew killer" and of course it is back. A seal is $10 dollars at most. It should have been replaced. All of her fixtures are rusted and corroded, she has a mold problem in her bathroom cabinet that they have yet to fix after submitting maintenance requests and following up. The ceiling above both of her patios are rotting, therefore the rotten wood is falling and could fall on her if she were to be outside when it gives out. I can't believe they would rent out properties that are in such poor condition. When my mom calls to follow up about her maintenance requests and is told that they are short staffed on maintenance people so they are doing the best they can. Do not include a mold/mildew addendum in your lease agreement if you have no intention of actually fixing the problem. Or don't rent out units that are riddled with the problem if you don't have the time or staff to fix it once you have a tenant.Business response

Good Morning,
First off, I would like to say I am so sorry for the inconveniences you have faced since move in. Secondly, I would like to say thank you so much for bringing this to our attention.
I was unaware of the mildew growth on the freezer that was sprayed by maintenance. I have sent this issue to our appliance company to have the freezer and refrigerator seals replaced.
As far as the fixtures are concerned, we did have all the faucets changed prior to move in and some of the items had to be special ordered. I was unaware that they had yet to be replaced so I have called and was informed they have been delivered and I've requested that they be replaced this week. I see that one of the issues is a sink drain. I will get that in to be replaced and sealed as well.
I do apologize about the bathroom vanity mold issue. On further investigation as to why it wasn't fixed when the kitchen cabinet was fixed, it is because another employee thought it was a duplicate work order and cancelled it. I have since rescheduled for that work to be done (5/20) I asked maintenance to get to that as soon as possible and they as well thought it was just another duplicate order and thought work had been done. I have let them know it wasn't a duplicate and asked them to get this done as soon as possible.
We have several items around the property that need to be address and unfortunately, we can only do so much at a time. We have been given the go ahead as of last week to have all of the balconies on the back side of this particular building redone. Once the top portion of the balconies are complete, the ceilings under will be fixed and sealed.
Please message anytime you have an issue and we are happy to get things taken care of as soon as possible. I appreciate you bringing all of this to our attention. We truly value our tenants and want them to feel at home and cared for.

On January 17th a pipe burst in my apartment and flooded the entire unit. Im needing someone to inspect for mold exposure. Ive been experiencing constant asthma, bronchitis, eye irritations, constant headaches and trimmers in my hands. Carpet and pad was replaced but it was not inspected for mold. They extracted over 220 gallons of water out of my apartment. Ran 8 blowers and a humidifier extractor for two weeks 24/7. I went to ER on 2/11/24 for severe asthma attack and bronchitis. Complex is trying to charge me 2 mo full rent for breaking my lease because Im need to relocate for my health. This was flooded prior to me moving 5/14/22 and I was not notified of this before signing a lease. The carpet and padding was never replaced either.Business response

We are sorry for the delay in responding. This complaint. It was address to ************************* and she has never worked in our apartment division. I have looked at *****'s portal. She moved out on March 4th. She did have flooding caused by a pipe break in ******** Prior to completing the repair, mold remediation was performed. She kept complaining that there was mold in the apartment and wanted out of her lease. Her lease ends 5/14/24. She kept saying the apartment was making her sick, she had to go to the doctor and spent time in the hospital. She never brought us anything from a doctor or hospital such as a note or bill, but we allowed her out of her lease. She paid $120.00 for her time spent in the unit in March and she was refunded her entire deposit of $875.00. You can reach me at the **** office with any more questions.
Thank you.
