Absolutely and unequivocally one of the worst DSP's out there. They are happy to take your hard earned money but will not actually release your product within a resonable time frame when selecting digital distribution. In addition, there's zero phone support, zero customer support, zero returned emails, but plenty of useless "bot" chats to anger you further. Our company has already refused CC charges and is in the process of filing a formal complaint with the *** under "Scam" businesses.From the 100's of complaints below, I seriously hope people have been warned.Review from Justin B

As a former employee, I was blown away that CD Baby removed a release I had without any prior communication nor notice. They said there were irregular streaming patterns and when I reached out, I received no response. I had ***************************** of former Taking Back Sunday on a track, barely broke ***** streams and they removed my work. So happy I dont work there anymore, seems to be an absolute mess. Use DistroKid instead, way less headaches and way more responsive. Im done with CD Baby and AVL as a whole. They have no clue what theyre doing anymore.Review from Eduardo C

I've used this company to distribute several albums. One of them was by a band (I'll call Band A) which was released in 2013. In 2015 I put out another release by a different band (Band B). Around 2016, the album by Band B was taken over by another entity, who cancelled my release and created their own. Around this time (I can only guess), CDBaby changed all of the names of the songwriters on the album by Band A, to people I either do not know, or to some of the people in Band B. I discovered this last year, and immediately sent an email asking for this to be resolved. They finally responded this week (!), and proceeded to immediately gaslight me, telling me that I did this, and after an album is submitted, nothing can be changed. I DID NOT DO THIS. Why on earth would I add songwriters I do not know, or from a band that didn't exist yet?? They refuse to even look into it. This is either some weird scam, or they are unwilling to pay someone to fix whatever caused this. I will never use this trash service again.Review from AARON W

CD Baby fails to distribute music metadata correctly causing inconsistent releases and albums released under the wrong artist. When I reached out numerous times to have them fix it, they told me it was my fault and I had to file a separation letter. How is it my fault?You're the distributer, not me.Review from Lana R. K

CD Baby after the release on their platform claims creators' music and videos as own, which is not cool. There was a legit copyrights verification by Sound Rxchange that granted perpetual rights to the owner. Still, music videos on ******* CD Baby claims as own copyright material. If this is a monetization trick, than write a reply. Company does not offers explanation whatsoever. In the agreement wasn't mentioned their 30% draconian claim on videos income neither. On September 15 received the note that my downgrade from Pro to Standard for other 3 songs will go in effect on October 1. Nope! CD Baby are still kipping them as hostages. Need an explanation and actions.Review from Johnny M

CD Baby PRO is a thief. They stole my publishing and refuse to release it back to me. I have emailed, called, and virtual chatted with no response. No one answered the phone, responded my emails, or been able to talk to a live person. Terrible service and I want out of CD Baby PRO.Review from Charlie K

I was discriminated by CDBABY cuz I am mentally and physically handicapped. CDBABY states it is equal and does not discriminate to normal people if typing. Any slight handicap might as well not waist your time here. They dont care. Truly keep me typing as it's so painful and hard to concentrate. But BBB was interested in the issues I brought up. The manner I'm treaded in when I ask for accommodations is equally compared a pike of c*** ************ is my digital distributor they need to be checkout in the manner of how they address the disabled when being asked for accommodations.Like we have a choice to be disabled.THEY DO NOT CARE AND ITS EXPRESSED VERY OPENLY LIKE ITS NOT A BIG DEAL.Review from Ingvar E

CD BABY HAS NOT PAID ME FOR YEARS AND THE LAST CHECK WHICH WAS A JOKE BOUNCED. CD BABY HAS NOT HELPED ME TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT OR CONTACTED OR REPLIED TO MY EMAILS AS WELL. I HAVE HAD OTHERS PURCHASE MY MUSIC AND NEVER GOT PAID FOR DISTRIBUTION SALES. THESE PEOPLE ARE OBVIOUSLY DISHONEST AND ARE NOT A REPUTABLE COMPANY CONSIDERING THEIR **** FAILURE CUSTOMER REVIEW. I'M AT THE POINT NOW WHERE I'M BRINGING MY LAWYER AND THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION INTO THIS TO REPORT FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES. THEY ARE A CD DUPLICATING COMPANY AS WELL. CDBaby is holding up the release of my new album. It's been three months. I've submitted Support requests over and over but they don't respond. They just send me the same email saying I have to add information to my Pro Publishing even though it's impossible to do this through their website. Totally frustrating and angering. Do NOT publish or distribute through these scammers. A waste of money and time and your album will never be distributed. BEWARE. I'm going to file a complaint with the BBB and I'm going to drive to ******** and go to their physical location to find our why they don't respond to their customers.Review from Donald J.

I cancelled my publishing with them after taking my music from their platform almost a year ago. I have the email confirming that they would relinquish their rights. After the music modernization act came about, I started to register my catalog only to find out I couldnt register the song. These people are ripping artists off and I highly suggest reading the fine print of their agreement before you give them access to your publishing rights. Even though they have an "UPDATABLE CONTRACT" which I found to be peculiar to say the least. And than they tell you on the homepage of the CDBaby Website that you will be getting paid weekly which is misleading and is "FALSE ADVERTISING!" Start your own publishing company if you decide to distribute through them. Don't let them collect for you. Than they don't even tell you that they are acting as a "middleman" with a publishing administrator called SONGTRUST. Total monotony! They should simplify their Pro Publishing and have a direct phone number where the customer can talk to humans for Customer Support because the bots cannot handle complex questions. CDBABY *****
