If I could give zero stars, I would. This was an incredibly traumatic experience which culminated in the death of our dear cat. The vet at Metropolitan told us she didn't know what was wrong with our cat, that he could die "at any minute" and that we were either all in - she could admit him for upwards of $2000 a day and he could still die - or all out, and that this meant we could have him euthanized. It got worse. When we asked what the treatment would be, and became upset by her vague answers and lack of any type of diagnosis as well as any consolation, she left the room and slammed the door. Then it became a nightmare. After 15 minutes, an angry young man with blue hair came into the room. We had a heated exchange and he began bullying us: "I can yell louder than you!". But - much worse - when I tried to leave the room, he grabbed the handle and would not let me out! Another staff person tried to push into the room, telling him to back off and calm down, but he refused to let her in. My husband had to move the young man (gently) so he would let me out! This man followed me out of the room, screaming that we weren't going to get our cat back. He locked the door behind us! To be clear, never were either of us aggressive nor menacing; that was all on the part of this absolutely bizarre - and berserk - receptionist. My husband called the police from the parking lot and, finally, a vet tech brought out our cat and quietly said, "I'm sorry." We took our cat home and he got worse. We had him put to sleep - thankfully, at home; we take solace in the fact we got him out of that place! - the next day, on the 4th of July. To be clear, there was no staff at any of the other emergency facilities the day we took Rufus here. Penn was diverting "patients" due to a nurse shortage caused by Covid. We even tried a tele-vet session but that vet - excellent, by the way; we highly recommend pawb.com - obviously could only do so much. Having been through this with another one o
