On November 20,2022 my son was developing a transmission problem with MY 2004 Explorer XLT so I encouraged him to go to the nearest AAMCO Transmission shop nearest him and the Pittsburgh Street location was closest for him so he went there he explained the issue he had with Jesse , Jesse informed my son it would require dropping the transmission pan and replacing the part it would be about a 5 hour job and it would cost around $300.00, so my son went home and came back with the Explorer towards the end of December to have this replaced and I (his father a ASE & CCT Technician) requested that while they were doing that to check the adjustment on the transmission band as well, well a couple days went by and I called them to see when the vehicle would be done and they said "we cannot find the transmission band to make a adjustment on it so I told them where the adjustment was and they finished my vehicle the same day I paid the bill, (after the fact that Jesse did not know the merchants phone number for Synchrony Bank) the Explorer developed the same problem it originally came in with and the vehicle had to be towed back to AAMCO when the vehicle was diagnosed by Rich he said the electronic parts inside the transmission were not the problem it was the band in the transmission that I asked to have adjusted, so they said something in the transmission hardparts was bad and the transmission would require rebuilding so I agreed to have the original transmission rebuilt at a cost of $3200.00 when I called on January 13,2023 (approximately 2 weeks later) I was told it should be done and they ran into a problem that the exhaust manifold studs were stripped out on the exhaust manifold and they would require replacement so another day went by and so on January 16,2023 I called to find out how the transmission job was and they said he was finishing it up and it would be January 17,2023 that it would be done ,

It happened on 11/21/2022. I had an appointment to have my vehicle inspected and emissions the appointment was at 1pm. I showed up a few minutes before the appointment. At about 1:20pm they finally took my car back. It was 3:50pm when they finished with my car. They tried to tell me there were codes and it wouldn't pass an inspection or emissions. I asked how there were codes when I didn't have a check engine light on. He argued with me stating when he first turned the key there was a check engine (a vehicle will not pass an emissions with a check engine) he should of stopped there. He lied. They pulled sensors to get the light on. Ruined a brand new boost sensor. And 2 of the codes would not of had anything to do with an inspection or emissions. Because I am a younger blonde lady they thought they could fool me into spending over $200 to get it to pass on needless things. There is no corporate number that I can find to call. After I argued with the mechanic stating I knew I did not have a check engine light when I brought it in. And I knew he pulled sensors to fail my care. It took another 20 minutes for them to take my car out of the garage because "he had to put my car back together" after having it in the possession for 3 hours. According to Google an average inspection takes 15-45 minutes and the average emissions takes 20-30 minutes.
