I believe Thomas Chevrolet is operating bait and switch advertising. I saw an ad on their website for a 2022 ********* for $36,865.00. I went into the dealership on 12/3 to discuss this vehicle. I test drove it and asked to see costs. They provided me a price of $45,060.00. When I mentioned the ad on the website they immediately said that it was "an error". When I asked to speak with a manager he advised that this was in fact and error and had already been fixed online. I left the dealership as I did not want to spend nearly $9,000 more than I had anticipated. Today, 12/5, the ad is still online with the pricing at $36,865.00. I called the dealership and requested to speak with the owner. I spoke with ***, the "owner's daughter" who advised that it is an error and they are "working to resolve this". As a consumer, I strongly feel that this is a bait and switch operation. There is no reason the internet ad is still available.Business response

Dear ******** *******,
Below is a response to a claim from ******* ********* that there was bait and switch advertising on our website.
The above customer came into the dealership and mentioned a specific vehicle she was interested in from the website. The customer was informed twice, once by the Sales Consultant and again by the Sales Manager, making her aware that there was an error made in the pricing of that specific vehicle on the website. After being informed, and acknowledging there was an error, the customer chose to continue and test drove the specific vehicle, spoke with the consultant at great lengths about purchasing and was then given the total cost. The total cost given included all Pennsylvania tax, tags, title and fees.
The pricing error made on this one vehicle is follows: MSRP/Sale Price are correctly $48,065 and they were mistakenly entered as $40,865. The error was found prior to the customer coming into the showroom and we immediately notified our DMS and site provider. It was corrected by end of the next business day (12/5).
I contacted the customer on 12/5 to explain that the difference amount was not $9,000 because the customer was including tax, tags, title and fees and those amounts are not included on the website prices. I also explained to her in great lengths what happened in the pricing discrepancy, that we did give her an additional discount for the inconvenience and that we do not bait and switch customers.
Sincerely,
Amy E******* *****
