      A special assessment fee of $1000.00 per homeowner was charged by the builder for road repairs. Roads were damaged by construction trucks used to build Manor House homes. Money has been paid and roads have never been repaired. I paid my $1000.00 for roads to be fixed like I was told and nothing has been done. This is outrageous behavior. I paid for something which I did not get and I expect money to be returned.

      The *** ***** ***** Homeowners Association, Inc charged all lot/house owners a $1,000 special assessment including Manorhouse Builders of SC for each lot it owned as of 1/1/21. The HOA inherited unfinished roads from the original developer for which the HOA and subdeveloper, **** ***** ****, were charged with fixing. The builder's activities certainly impacted the roads, but mostly due to the state in which they were turned over. The original developer was foreclosed on due to financial stress, so this was really the HOA and homeowner's only choice. Then a group of approximately 30 homeowners hired an attorney to manage the special assessment being used for the repairs. This delayed any possible action due to special stipulations that attorney was forcing the HOA to take in order to get the funds from him. That group has realized that the attorney and effort were not necessary and as of 12/15/21 only 2 homeowners still had their money with the attorney, but at this point the subdeveloper and builder are almost out of the neighborhood, so the homeowners will be in charge of the HOA on 1/15/22 and can do as they want with the special assessments which have been collected. An additional special assessment will likely be needed to finish the roads entirely. Manorhouse is not involved in the special assessment at all other than as a lot owner that paid $11,000 of the assessment.
