I’m currently unemployed so I went to staffing company work smart staffing. Upon completion of my drug test and application was told I would get a job soon. Well I waited a day or 2 went by and was notified of an opening at **** **** in cokesbury for employment went in and worked for 3 days. Then was notified by worksmart that I failed a background check. The following morning my employer sends me to worksmart for clarification. Upon arrival they were closed waited in the lot for them to open. I walk in at approximately 8:03 am on 1/21/22 and tell Kayla W***** Brenda, and another employee named Elijah was very rude. So I try to explain to them the situation and that my employer sent me down to have them call him (Wayne) while I’m there. They refused to call and began being rude I personally called the company and notified the supervisor Wayne that they were refusing to call him so he said he would call them. He called and Kayla W***** walked out of the room to speak with him. Upon returning to the room she went to her desk and sat for a few minutes before speaking. She called me back to her desk and said my background check made me ineligible to be employed through them. Yet when I call Wayne at ****** ** **** **** Co. and he informs me that Kayla was supposed to talk to me about it, and then I had informed him I already spoke with her and was told I could try a different staffing company. I still don’t understand what’s going on told Wayne at **** **** what was goin on and he said that he isn’t sure either to go home for the day and he will get back with me as he had an conference call in a few minutes.Business response

Good Morning,
I want to start out by saying that we take complaints like this very seriously and I followed up on this particular one very quickly. A lot of this involves confidential information that I can not legally share with the BBB due to its sensitive nature.
What I can say is that each of our clients has certain requirements when it comes to criminal record checks and who is eligible to work at their specific work sites. There are specific processes that companies must follow when it comes to communication with potential employees/current employees in regards to their employment eligibility. We have followed these steps.
If the individual has a complaint, they can contact our HR Department or me personally and we can get it resolved with the individual in question.
