Do not go there! Was forced to get periodontal work done that I did not need and then insurance would not cover it all because it was unnecessary so now I am stuck with a $300.00 bill. All I needed was a new bridge for the bottom of my mouth, not periodontal work done on the top of my mouth. All the Hygenist did was run a small tool around my teeth on top, took all of 30 minutes, and then they charged my insurance company $600.00 They do not answer the phone and if you leave a message they do not return the calls. They do not ever answer the phone number that is on the billing statement that you are supposed to call if you have a billing question! They are hiding from angry customers like me!Review from Jenna A

I had my initial consultation on May 4, 2024, and discussed the extensive dental work that needed to be done. I trusted the team and felt comfortable at first. I informed them about an important business event in the ** from June 19 to July 1 and emphasized the need for a functional immediate partial denture. Despite extracting three teeth in my upper smile line, the immediate partials they provided were ill-fitting and poorly designed. The partials were squeezing my teeth together and the teeth themselves did not match my natural teeth. The gum line was also protruding, giving the appearance of a stroke. I immediately returned to the dental office, but they dismissed my concerns and claimed the partials were temporary. I asked for a digital scan and offered to pay for new impressions and immediate partials, but they said I had to wait for 4-6 months. Frustrated, I sought another dental appointment elsewhere and was able to schedule a digital scan for today, June 4th. I will have new teeth that fit properly by next week. I returned to the original dentist, and every staff member agreed that the partials were unacceptable. The dentist made some adjustments but failed to address the aesthetic and functional issues. I was given denture glue and told that nothing else could be done until my deep cleaning and fillings were completed. I am reporting this to my insurance and CareCredit team. I refuse to pay for the impressions and the ill-fitting partials. I demand immediate attention and resolution to this issue, or I will involve legal action, local news, and others. ************** and the staff should consider the impact of their actions on their patients and their reputation. I only asked for a correction of the mistake, but I was left emotionally and physically distraught. This needs to be rectified promptly.Review from Pauline G.

My husband and I made appointments to have our teeth cleaned. My husband's appointment was in the morning and mine in the afternoon. We both were given a very thorough exam and about 20 single X-Rays and a panoramic all for no charge. Why they did that was because of the excessive charges they have. My husband's bill BEFORE insurance was over $4000. After insurance was almost $1500. He used a credit card and paid it. I was livid when he came home. I knew he had some gum disease but this was ridiculous. Looking over the bill, they had also changed us $135 for an electric toothbrush which he didn't bring home. I went to my appointment in the afternoon as scheduled. I generally have pretty decent teeth. My bill came to over $1700 and my *********************************** paid NOTHING. They were also going to charge me for an electric toothbrush, but since my husband had it on his bill, they took it off mine. I then asked them to let me have the toothbrush my husband paid for. They told me they didn't have any. So these people are putting things on your bill that they don't even have in stock. I went to my previous dentist 2 weeks later and he promptly cleaned my teeth. My insurance paid for his treatment.Review from Patsy A

The worst experience EVER! I was made an initial appt at which they did a bunch of x-rays, the Hygienist spoke to me, never mentioning I had *********** ******** never did before, and said I could make a cleaning appt at the front desk. Now starting in Nov or 2022. Then the Dentist came in, he told me I would need 2 ****** and they could schedule appts for me to get this fixed. I went out to the front to do this.
Immediately they set me down with the bookkeeper give me a summary of my charges. I have 2 insurances, and they are in Network on both. She said the ***** would be $1350 each, insurance pays $282 and you will have to pay for it NOW. She also said the EXTRA *********** ******** is $152. I told her ok, make me an appt. and I will get with my insurance company, ******* She said NO, you have to Pay First before any appts are made. I told her I was in Network and they would need to bill my insurance company first, make adjustments for being in Network, and then I would pay the bill. She said, your insurance pays Zero so you have to pay the $152 today to get the appt. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. I contacted my insurance and they said they had to bill them first, that is the advantage of being in the network. They also said my insurance pays $78 of that *********** ********* The tried to get me to pay for ******** ********** generally these at 14 y.o. and is elective. This charge was $115, Not elective, just slapped on my bill. Needless to say I did not make any appts. Why am I paying now for a November visit? I could be dead and the figures were all wrong too.
Doctor nice, Hygienist nice, but out front, they need some etiquette and Medical/Dental plan teaching. It's not all about the money and not everyone is willing to write a check for an appt 4 months away, or are they?Aspen Dental Response

In all my years of going to a dentist Aspen Dental of Conway SC is the worst I've ever attended. They have billed me inappropriately trying to get credit back on my HSA account. Calling leaving numerous messages. You can never talk to a real person. Also they have cancelled my appointments numerous times. Try to get a basic cleaning done since 11/21 and still waiting on appointment for 2/22! I think they are under staffed and unprofessional. Can't find their corporate office to speak to someone.Aspen Dental Response

the free X- Ray and free exam are nothing more than just a trick to have you sign for thousands of dollars worth of treatment. Even if do agree , the contract amount and the price you agree to may change without any reasonable explanation , like what happened to us . if you disagree and question the prices , you may get thrown out of the office, threatened by police arrest and left outside and treated as a drunk in Bar . we paid the full amount , in advance and they still throw us out like drunks in a bar although were are retired and veterans . They backed down on the deal, cancelled it and we are left without dentures, money and dignity and insults . The did refund about 2/3 of the amount , however , we think they owe us a full refund and they are refusing to refund us the remainder of the amount equal to more than one thousand dollars. After all , they are the ones who cancelled , backed down and treated with trespassing and police arrest. This is not how businesses behave , especially a health facility in general and a dental clinic in particular . so please be careful dealing with business manager at this place , we believe that her behavior toward us was more like a bar Bouncer than a dental clinic office manager . we recommend you look around , there are so many honest , good , professional dentist in town , private and retail . Aspen Dental in our experience is not one we recommend .Aspen Dental Response

No one contacted us and don't believe that they will . Suddenly the main headquarters is throwing the issue back at the local Aspen Dental office in Myrtle Beach when they were all out in force defending them with the consumer protection department of the state . We hope a just and fair resolution be reached with the local Aspen Dental . We will not wait for ever .
