This company is run by husband and wife ****** and ***********************. On Feb 9, 2023 I unwillingly was forced to pay $264.87 to AutoHaus for a seatbelt diagnosis.Upon arrival I told ***** that I needed a SEAT BELT SENSOR checked because 30 seconds after the car was started it would chyme. Simple.I was asked to sign a blank invoice which I asked "why am I signing a blank paper?" ***** told me "We can't look at your car until you sign it." ************************* gave me very disturbing news about my car... He told me I needed to leave the car at his shop, as the engine had to be replaced. He said it would never make it to where I was going. He said the header was bad, which meant the engine could blow at any time and would void my warranty. He also said there was gas and oil in the coolant which was also serious, he said he knows this because he has been doing this work for over 60 years. I told him I wanted to think about it and I wasn't leaving the car. He kept at me, warning me and scaring me while raising his voice about driving the car.Suddenly he told ***** to charge me for a diagnosis and he left. ***** presented me with a $264.87 bill.I told her the bill was outrageous and that I didn't want to pay it. She told me the charge was for test driving my car. They also charged shop supplies of ***** and an environmental charge of **** to check a SEAT BELT SENSOR!After leaving Auto Haus I took the car to ****************** (****** ************)I explained that I was told the engine needed to be replaced and there was oil and gas in the coolant. *** (shop *******) said there was no oil or gas in the coolant and that I did NOT need to replace the engine.I then took the car locally to The Car Store Auto Repairs and they too confirmed I did not need my engine replaced and there were NOT any contaiminants in the coolant.

***************************** brought her 2009 Mini ****** S into our shop on February 7, 2023, with a seat belt sensor would not stop ringing, also showed seat belt message sometimes.  Performed

road test and no messages appeared, performed complete computer scan which us 6 codes but no seat belt codes.  Road tested with scan tool hoocked up seat buckle no messages during

road test, cleared all other codes and performed software updates, checked and found *** and Mini bulletin for buckle failuare.   Also, noted during test drive weakness & minor sound  in clutch

and throw out bearing.  Concerning engine, test showed combustion gas in coolant.  We have all diagnostic equipment and have been charging diagnostic fees on all cars we check and we also have notices

on the wall that we charge for diagnostics.  When her car was finished Ms. ************* stated  she never paid for diagnostics.

I am rejecting this response because:  ***************** response is embellished and repetitive.
I never told him there was a seatbelt message.... just a chyme.  I have NEVER seen a seatbelt message in this car. I NEVER said it wouldn't stop ringing.

The simple truth is this: I said that the seatbelt sensor chimes for 20 seconds when seatbelts are in use, with or without a passenger. The chime starts about 30 seconds into the ride and lasts for 20 seconds.

I was never asked, nor did I ask them to check the coolant or engine.                                                                                                                                              For the record, I told *************** that I had just purchased the car. He told me there was gas AND oil in the coolant and the car needed an engine.                     He told me the car would not make it to where I was going. He raised his voice and was irritated when I told him I was not leaving the car with him.                   He warned that I would void my warranty if I drove the car and the engine blew.                                                                                                                               He said he had been doing this for over 60 years and knew what he was talking about.

I was quite upset about my newly purchased car when I left AutoHaus. Not to mention the further costs I incurred because of ***************** scare tactics.

Prior to this, I visited another auto shop and they did not charge me to look at the seatbelts or sensor, ************** does not work with my warranty company unfortunately.
I did not see a notice of diagnostic charges for seat belts or related info at AutoHaus. I did see the note about ***** on the door jam and ***************** framed automotive testings.

      I want a full refund.

      Sincerely,

      *********************
