I hired Patriot Roofing to replace my Roof. We came to an agreement it would cost 9,895$ the offer would last for thirty days. Jason D***** only came to home he asked for my insurance policy. He did speak with he led me to believe that maybe I could receive extra help, Immediately gave a down payment 5,000 in a cashiers check. After the job was completed, I was told that their would an additional charge for the extra wood that was needed Jason called about a month later In called Jason extra Ti tell me I owed The company an additional 895.00$, for the extra wood. I asked If I could pay in increments. He replied fine Let me know I received a check from Johnson &Johnson, Jason Called about a week later saying the check I received in my name belong to Patriot Roofing. He tried to belittle me into thinking you not not have the right to FREE MONEY!!! Patriot Sent me a notice of a certified letter.. I txt him if I could have a copy of the contract He txt me back that he would be coming to my house with a sheriff to personally give that certified letter, and will be taking me to small claims court next . I asked to stop harassing me Waiting for the Deputy as I file this complaint. In short behind my he put in a claim without my knowledge I insurance company stated the check I received was rightfully mine. It a supplemental claim I was awarded.

      BBB representative,

When we met Mrs. ******* back in early March of 2023, she was in need of a full roof replacement. At this point she made us aware that she has already started the process with her insurance company and that they have awarded her funds to replace the roof. She also admitted that she was careless with the initial funds and spent most of it. She mentioned that she was working with ******** County to help her with her roofing project. ******** County has a project in place to help their residences for construction processes such as this. ******** County awarded Mrs. ******* with $5,000 to go towards her roofing project. Not to mention she had the initial funds from her insurance company. We explained to Mrs. ******* that we would complete the roof to the insurance quote and any and all supplements would fall on the Insurance Company and not her. We completed her project on the 30th of March. This was five months ago. Her insurance company has approved a scope that we worked off of and billed accordingly.  Mrs. ******* does not want to pay us to that approved amount.  She has mentioned yet again that she has miss used those funds allocated to the roofing project.  We have informed Mrs. ******* on our options as a business owner in the state of SC to collect on funds owed for work we completed (lien, small claims). We believe this is a simple case of a client wanting to profit off an insurance claim. Which is disappointing due to the fact ******** County gave her funds from the tax payers of ******** County to help her out. I will note that the total funds Mrs. ******* has received for this project is: $5000 (******** County payment) + $ 7,639.50 (First payment from Ins Co.) + $4,365.24 (Supplement payment from Ins Co.) = $17,004.74.

      I have added multiple documents:

      1. Our invoice showing the totals that match the revised estimate roof total. Total RCV Roof: $14,095.10 / Permit Fee: $102.70 / OSB Fee: $895.00 / (Minus a $152.09 discount)

      2. The Revised Estimate from her insurance company: This shows what the Insurance company paid towards her project.

      3. Certificate of Completion: Mrs. ******* signed off that the work was completed to her Insurance Company's scope.

      4. Supplement Agreement Form: Mrs. ******* signed this form stating that she understands the supplemental process and understands all supplements are awarded to us upon approval.

      5. Permit: The permit was approved to complete the work for this project.

      Thank you,

      Spencer Babs
