I am writing this formal complaint against Windy Shores II due to their unwillingness to terminate my membership. I have "owned", a term I use loosely, property with them for over 30 years and faithfully paid my dues. As time has progressed, this has benefitted me less and less, and now, I do not intend on using the services of Windy Shores II any longer, and haven't done so in over 10 years. The units have seen very minimal change, but the price has increased exponentially - to the point of being unaffordable. It is no longer feasible, or reasonable, to continue making these payments. I've explained to them that this has become my sole responsibility as the other owners have passed or communication with them has fallen through entirely. As a retiree, paying for this on my own is not economically sound. Despite that, I've faithfully paid the dues for over 30 years (as previously mentioned), and thought requesting the termination of my membership would be simple, but Windy Shores II has been uncooperative. They've even gone as far as involving a collection agency. Is this the treatment a longstanding member deserves? It is disheartening, and their lack of cooperation deepens our desire to sever ties. Even if we had the funds, why would I want to maintain a membership with a company who has outdated units and poor customer service? I know it is well within the power of the Windy Shores II to grant my desire for termination and I will continue to pursue the termination of my membership through whatever channels necessary.
