I saw Dr. Long at the Upstate Podiatry Group on 5/16/23 and he recommended foot inserts. I told them I had inserts before and did not like them because I had to buy a larger size shoe for them to fit and he stated that their inserts are made in office and would fit my shoes with no problem of changing the size. I went back on 5/25/23 for them to make the inserts and I once again asked the front desk personal will these inserts fit my current shoes without any problem of me having to purchase larger shoes and she stated yes that they will fit my current shoes without changing the size and they had me to bring my shoes with me. After getting the inserts that day, I told them that they made my shoe too tight and were hurting my toes. I was told to continue to wear them and that the discomfort would get better. After two weeks it actually got worse. I went back into the office and they said they would trim them down but I would need a wider shoe. I told them that I was not going to buy more shoes because they told me the inserts would fit my current shoes with no problem. I had verified with the doctor and the front desk personal that I could use my current shoes and they stated yes. They then proceeded to show me a paper that they gave me when I had my inserts made that said; (ALWAYS take your orthotics with you when you buy new shoes. They may alter your shoe size or type of shoe you buy). Well I did not need to buy new shoes because I told them up front that I had my own shoes and they said that was fine. I had no intention of buying new shoes so that statement did not apply to me. They told me there was not anything they could do. I paid $360.00 for inserts I cannot use. My insurance did not cover any of it because I had not meant my deductible yet. First they said they could not get the money back from insurance when I asked for a refund and I informed them that insurance did not pay, they lied. I paid the $360.00 out of my pocket. I just want my money refunded.
