On 3/22, I purchased a used As-Is 2011 F150 Platinum. for 14,958.28 plus an *** ********** warranty covering Powertrain that began at the moment of purchase. Following leaving the lot, the next day I got an engine light that turned on. It was diagnosed by 12th street auto as being a timing chain issue. This was under the warranty that I purchased. There are two problems I have. The mechanic couldn't confidently say that the dealership didn't reset the engine light prior to selling the vehicle. I was unaware of this timing chain issue at time of purchase. While I was quite upset with having an approximately 5-6 thousand dollar repair within the first week of purchase, the warranty did not cover the fix because they claimed it was "pre-existing" prior to purchase. The receipt of the repair is attached. The dealership was unwilling to stand behind their product. I understand that I bought an as/is truck, however, the following day the engine light came on which makes me suspicious that they were aware of the issue. Secondly, the warranty would not cover the issue because it was "pre-existing". This leads me to think that the dealership did not disclose to me this significant problem and possibly deceived me. They did refund me the warranty, which I am grateful, but quite upset with the lack of transparency and unwillingness to take action to help remediate the issue.Business response

A BBB representative had called me and asked me to repsond to this Complaint. Unsure how to respond as the vehicle was not inspected and sold AS-IS.
