      Worst buying experience ever! Would not return calls or give updates. Told us he would build the home in 6 months, and then put us last on his list after the contract was signed. After almost a year of frustration, builder cancelled contract by mail with no phone call to even discuss, so that he could sell the home for more money. We should have listen to other people that shared their terrible experiences with us, but we trusted them. Waste of a year, time and money. Dave T***** is very good at hiding who he really is. Very poor quality of home as well, so maybe it was all for the best. Save yourself the trouble and choose a better builder.

      I really don't know how to respond to this other than to share that **** was without question a very difficult client/customer as well.  He was in a  rush to get this investment property built but wouldn't authorize us to start building until another property he owned had closed. Once he had signed the contract, he had us wait a couple of months to start construction because he was waiting on another real estate investment to sell. I've got emails documenting this.

      He also conveniently left out the part where he literally begged multiple times to be let out of the contract which I had agreed to do. Then when I did release him I get this review.  I've got multiple texts and emails with this request. On the delays, this home was being built during the hey day of Covid. Things in the construction business got crazy there for a while and jobs that used to take 4-5 months now were taking a year or more. We had never seen anything like the delays due to people being ill, and the supply chain problems we experienced. There is no logical reason to delay a project once a contract is signed since we don't get paid until it's completed. On the "poor quality" comment, I am confused why he would be upset the contract was cancelled if he really felt this way. As far as the communication, I did pretty much stop returning calls and texts when they reached the level of harassment. Unless there was something relevant that I personally needed to answer or discuss with him I did not return calls or texts. He was directed to relay communication through the superintendent who was running the job.  Here again, I've got multiple texts and emails with replies.

      In all honesty, I'm not pleased with the outcome of this transaction either. Things happened that can not be undone by either one of us. At D&D Custom Homes, LLC we are always looking for ways to improve and have modified our processes to reflect current timelines and to  improve our customers' overall experience.
