The refrigerator in our 5th wheel stopped working. We called Shelbourne & they sent out their technician. He tested everything & said everything was checking out fine....he said because it had been so hot outside sometimes the refrigerator can't keep up & said that he could put on a dial thermostat that helps regulate the temperature. We agreed to have him put it on. He told us to give it 36 hours to cool & if it didn't cool, it could possibly be the cooling unit, which would be $3,000.00+....but he thought because everything else was reading good it was most likely the thermostat. We paid him $780.00 for a service call, 1 hour labor & the part. We waited the 36 hours & the refrigerator was still not working....I called him & got no reply, I texted him & got no reply. The next day I called the office & told them the refrigerator was still not working. They said they would have him contact me. He texted & said they were checking on the part he had talked to us about. I heard nothing for a few days, called the office & was told the lady that takes care of outside service was out....I left a message....no reply. The next day I called and was told the lady had just left for lunch, this was 9:30 a.m....I left another message...no response. I called another company, they came right out....determined that it was the cooling system, called Dometic & talked to their technician & both said it was not worth repairing. The other technician also asked why Shelbournes technician had put on a dial thermostat....I told him what their technician had told us & he said there was no reason for him to have put that on when the other thermostat was working fine & it was not the problem to begin with. I showed him my reciept & he looked up the dial thermostat, it was $36.00.....they charged us $350.00 for it. I don't mind paying a fair price for services....but I don't like being taken advantage of. I have my reciept but I can not get it to load. A refund of $314.00 is what I am askingBusiness response
