Only two employees working, both outside flanking the doors on both sides, smoking so my granddaughter and I had to walk through their smoke to get in the store. We looked around for a few minutes, found what we wanted to buy, both employees still in their same spots outside smoking. I had wanted to use cash but neither cashier bothered to come in so I had to use my debit card at the self checkout for a $5 purchase. Employees are almost always outside smoking directly in front of the doors even though there are signs on the doors specifically saying not to smoke in front of the doors. The worst store I have ever been to. I hurry up there before they close 9:55. Don't forget I run out of gas just to try and make it before they close. I go to checkout with my 1 item and she will not accept my cash. Says card only. That's the only thing I have yet the lady still refused me. Now I have nothing to eat tonight thanks to some rude lady that laughed at me.Review from Annette S

No one working registers or helping customers. No bags at the self checkout. I said “I need some bags!” Someone yelled “We’re out!” I had to go find my own bag as well as check my items out! Dollar General supposedly has digital coupons online. You go through many and indicate the ones you would like to use. Do not even consider trying to use the Cash Back coupons. They never work. Now the digital ones won’t work. You have to put in phone number and when you try the screen goes off so you don’t get to use coupons. I have tried three different stores so this is not one attempt to use them. It should be illegal for them to do this. After going through coupons, shopping for correct items, waiting in line you still have to pay full price. If they don’t want customers using coupons quit putting us through this. Absolutely hate this store now.Dollar General Response

I was thrown out of the store in Amelia today. I am hearing disabled and don't realize I am speaking loudly. I asked the cashier there a few questions and she told me I was being very disrespectful. I asked her where the garbage can was, if there was a bathroom I could use, where the batteries were as there was a huge cart in front of them. And finally asked about ice. I had no idea she was offended. I tried to explain about my hearing loss and that I just asked her questions. I guess she thought I was yelling at her. She threw me out in front of 3 customers and that I was disrupting her whole store. I am very upset and embarrassed about this. I was not threatening or demeaning. So, I guess I am not allowed to shop there because I can't hear the level of my voice. I wonder what other people with disabilities they don't serve?Dollar General Response

Dollar General repeatedly prices items on the shelf higher than they ring up at the register. They repeatedly advertise digital coupons that do not come off the transaction. Dollar General is making millions of dollars by misleading customers evidently their trip to court did not do any good.Dollar General Response

The cashier on Oct. 6,2024 1:19pm 2 customers ahead in line cashier talking away holding the customers up to cash out. And cashier talking about her having to move her couch., sorry she had to bail out of work early to the other employee. Still cashing out the ones before me still talking away. The one in front of me makes noise of hurry along. Then comes to me cashing out she was reading a magazine and not cashing me out as if I wasn't even there. I said excuse me in a nicely matter saying are you going to cash me out now? She gets mad and starts getting snobby and I said it was Rude of her to hold up the customers in the store of talking of personal things and reading on the clock not on break. She picked up my pk of cookies and threw them on counter and told the other employee to cash me me. I mean I don't care if one want to talk and read but on your own personality time, not on employers time or customers time. I said if you don't like your job just go get another one. She said I like my job just don't like you. I don't even know this woman. I mean I had ice cream and my service dog out in vech. With windows down. I truly wasn't mean to this lady I basically was stating a fact. It was very rude and wrong. The other lady that cashed me out I said that you. The other woman still talking away mad , I told her God Bless have a nice day. I went on my way. Any other time I'm in there never had a problem.Review from Patricia P

We live next door to a nasty dollar store in RedBud Ga. We've complained about it several times and a few times they clean it up but a few days later it's a bigger mess. Cleaning the surrounding area outside should be an ongoing thing. Nastiness does not encourage customers.Dollar General Response

I would TRULY like to know why Dollar General has the nerve to charge $3.50 for a gallon of milk at one location and $4.35 for a gallon of milk at another location.? These locations are only 10 miles apart!! THIS to me is just plain price gouging! You are fully taking advantage of customers!
