      I hired Griffis Construction to build a deck at the end of July 2021 and the deck was suppose to be done by the end of August 2021. I paid $2900 for supplies. Only 2 bundles of wood showed up on different days. It wasn't no $2900 worth. I kept asking for when he was going to start and he kept ignoring that question. At the end of August, he stated that COVID ran through his crew and he is looking at another 2 weeks before they started since they had to play catch up.. That was on August 27, 2021. I sent a text on September 14, 2021 about when they are gonna start. No response. September 24, 2021 I sent another text asking when they are going to start. No response. October 1, 2021, I texted the same question and told him I think he is putting me on the runaround and no response. October 8, 2021, I asked the same question and told him I felt like he didn't want the job. No response. October 10, 2021 I asked for the receipt for the wood and the balance of the money I gave him for supplies and I am going to find another contractor. No response. I finally left a message on his Facebook page and he responded by a phone call stating his phone broke. He wasn't receiving any texts or calls. I told him I hired another contractor and I want the receipt for the wood and the remaining money from the money for supplies. He said the receipts are with the wood. They were not. He sent me a receipt on how much a 10x20 deck would cost. I subtracted everything on that list I didn't receive and then subtracted that amount from the $2900 and the amount came to $907.37. He can't show me any receipts from his records. His math comes up different than mine. He states he owes me $758 but has no receipts. I tried a compromise at $832.50 which is $75 more for him and $75 less for me. He denied it. So, I just want my balance owed to me. The attached receipt is what he sent me on how much it costs for the deck. But, subtract the hangers, concrete and spindles because I didn't receive them.
