I rented a motorcycle in ****** ******** for a 2 week trip. I dropped the bike once and had minor scratches on the panniers. The owner got an estimate for over $2000 for things that I had nothing to do with and the pictures taken after the ride did not support. I was not allowed to dispute the charges or have any say in the final arbitration. I wanted to make the minimal damage right, even though Rider-share contract allows for minor scratches of about an inch as incidental. The scratches were barely more than that, if at all. The estimate by the owner was returned within a week and the case was closed without even hearing my side of the story. When I tried to dispute the claim, the adjuster was rude and would not agree with any side of my story, even in light of the evidence. I feel like I was unjustly charged over $2000 and would never use this service againReview from Ja K

As a bike owner, I WOULD NEVER LIST MY BIKE ON HERE EVER AGAIN. MAKE SURE TO READ THE ***** Riders Share is no ******* a renter, . I rented my motorcycle for only the 2nd time and it came back damaged with the exhaust fully off the line and melted fan and fairings internally. There was no preexisting damage to my motorcycle. It was brand new and free of blemishes. The renter took it off-road as there was grass stuffed under the bike and it was bottomed out multiple times as the exhaust came off the engine and the screws logged into the oil pan. I filed a claim with pictures. Pictures were taken just before and right after it was rented. Riders Share could clearly see what was damaged. They comletey ignored everything that was provided to them so I submitted a supplement from the repair shop to the claims representative and they still chose not to cover the damages. Also, all communications were done by email. I requested a phone call and was told their policy didn't permit phone calls. I will not be renting my bike out again. It's unfortunate because the first time I rented it out, it was a very positive experience. If you rent your bike out through this app. Be aware that if something were to happen to your motorcycle, and you need to file a claim. You are at their mercy, and you will not be happy. They will not file claims on your behalf as they run the monody on the insurance coverage and will not allow you to cover your bike. I asked the claim to be submitted or else I will be taking legal action due to the $5,000 in damages to the bike, as a resulted closed down my account and delete all evince against them in the claim to protect their unethical behavior. In addition, they have "**********" still in their terms and agreements tho file small business claims, but given their unethical business model, they will not pay the $275 fee to file the claim so you are paying for this free to force them to consent their claims and get paid for the damages.Riders Share Response

This owner reported losses to their vehicle twelve days after the booking ended. Owners have 72 hours to file a claim through our website. Despite the delay, we agreed to provide coverage if there was compelling evidence which supported the claim. Based on the before and after photos of the bike the owner submitted, we are not able to confirm the renter damaged this vehicle. As such, the claim was declined.Review from Justin T

Terrible insurance experience. I am the owner of the bike. The first trip, the renter totaled the bike. The adjuster is being nasty and they are using rebuild title bike on the market to value my bike. (Mine is perfect) No way to negotiate and you will have to accept what they give you.Riders Share Response

The vehicle with a rebuilt title is one of many comparable vehicles for sale used to average a fair market value. We adjusted the value of the rebuilt title before averaging to accurately represent the actual cash value of the totaled vehicle.Review from Larry B

Customers are provided the cancelation policy before reserving the vehicle. When creating a booking, they signify they've read, understood, and agree to this policy. The customer was assessed a cancelation fee at the time of cancelation.
While we are not able to offer a full refund, we have added the cancelation fee ($361.04) as a credit to his account, to be put toward a future ride if desired.Review from Sherman M

Horrible customer service, dealing with a claim incident. I contacted the agent in charge and tried to get information on why they where replacing a scratch part and other things. Tried explaining to him that I could not see said damage on public photos. Just told me that I had to pay for it and that was it.Riders Share Response

The customer rented a motorcycle through us, and agreed to our Terms of Service, which state the following:
"You are responsible for any and all damages incurred during the rental period and return of the vehicle according to your Reservation Agreement in a timely manner, in the condition in which it was rented."
We require photo documentation of the vehicle before and after a reservation. Check in photos do not show any damage to the bike, but check out photos clearly show scratches to the engine guard. At the time of the settlement, we informed the customer re-painting the damaged part would be less cost effective than a full replacement.
The engine guard was replaced, and the customer was held responsible for the $500 deductible carried with their coverage. Riders Share covered remaining costs. While we understand this customer's frustration, and are disappointed he feels otherwise, we did communicate clearly with them regarding our claim process and settlement.Review from Paul H

I rented a Kawasaki 650 Vulcan in *****************) ** from November 30-Dec 5 2023.I had no issues with the bike itself. It ran fine, although it was totally naked, no bags or windshield, a bit tough riding on the highway. The issue I had was with the pricing structure, which I would describe in one word: deceptive.Presenting itself as a benevolent association bringing bike owners and renters together, they display a map of the city with little circles showing daily rental rates and locations. I clicked on this one showing $30/day.This is the last time i ever saw this rate. When I went to rent the bike it was suddenly $55/day with "discounts" bringing the rate down to about $41/day.Taking the next step, a $68 "service charge" showed up. Then a Collision Deductible Waiver menu came up, with no opportunity to use a high end credit card to cover this. Luckily my credit card was able to cover a $2000 deposit so i could get the minimum CDW at $15/day. Others with less money would be forced to pay $20 or $25/day. I have no doubt this money has absolutely nothing to do with insurance and goes straight into someone's pocket. In the end the 5 day rental was almost $350, or $70/day, well over twice the original stated rate. My question is, why not just include all these charges that everyone has to pay anyway instead of luring people with a low daily rate and then piling on all these other charges? The checkin/out procedure was seamless and I do like the concept. They just need to be more honest with actual costs to the rider.*********************** **************** ****** 50+ years ridingRiders Share Response

Hey ****,
We are glad to hear you enjoyed your ride, and hope you feel your riding experience was worth the expense!
To clarify, when looking at our marketplace, if you have no dates entered, it will show you rates for a 5-day trip. Due to multi-day discounts, 5-day trips often have a lower rate. If you were to narrow down the dates after searching, the prices adjust accordingly. The cost of our Damage Waivers directly pays for losses accrued by renters throughout the year. Our service fee helps cover the cost of doing business online, such as payment processing, cybersecurity, etc.
Please reach out to us at ********************************************************* if you would like to discuss this matter further. We want to ensure you are pleased with our service, or at minimum, consider ways to improve!
We greatly appreciate your patronage and feedback.
Sincerely,
****************

As a renter, they ****. I rented my motorcycle for only the 2nd time and it came back damaged. There was no preexisting damage to my motorcycle. It was ************** and free of blemishes. The renter took it off-road and laid it down at speed. I filed a claim with pictures. Pictures were taken just before and right after it was rented. Riders Share could clearly see what was damaged. They wrote up the estimate only using the photos and came back with what they declared their financial liability was and excluded the panniers and engine guards saying they are a wear item and are not part of the damage claimed. Overall, their estimate was around $1500 short of what it cost to restore the motorcycle to its original condition. Their estimate was way off on the labor cost and parts cost. I'm not sure where or how they came up with their amount.Because the estimate did not cover all the costs from the repair shop, I submitted a supplement from the repair shop to the claims representative and they still chose not to cover the difference. They did not take care of it.Also, all communications were done by email. I requested a phone call and was told their policy didn't permit phone calls. I couldn't debate or contend their estimate. It was final.I will not be renting my bike out again. It's unfortunate because the first time I rented it out, it was a very positive experience. If you rent your bike out through this app. Be aware that if something we're to happen to your motorcycle, and you need to file a claim. ****,
We are sorry to hear your of your frustration with this claim. We do perform adjustments remotely, using the evidence supplied by the owner and renter/rider. The check ***************** submitted by each party are reviewed in order to prevent the customer being held responsible for pre-existing damages.
In order to keep a written record, communications regarding claims are done through electronic mail, as disclosed in our terms agreement. We are a small team and this process allows us to operate most efficiently.
Your claim representative has requested further documentation. We hope to reach a settlement which aligns with our terms agreement and satisfies both parties.

Beware. Rented an adventure bike ****** 650L), and was stoked about the site and process. Rent a bike from a private party for a good deal - win-win. Bike ran like c*** but good enough to get through my 3-day trip. A rear fender baggage rack breaks 5-miles into my trip (a bolt broke that fastened the rack to the fender) while we are still on the street (after trailering the bike out of town). We stop by a store, pick up some hardware and spend some time fixing it to get it ride-ready. When we return, I have to pay for the rack and the labor to fix it. Beware - you are responsible for anything that goes wrong with the bike while you have it. If the owner doesn't put oil in the engine and it blows while you have it - you are buying the guy a new engine. *********** - "the fact is that it was damaged during your trip and you agreed to be responsible for damages the occurred while you had the bike in your possession. " It's not worth it.Riders Share Response

This renter was held responsible for a baggage rack which was broken during his ride, per our reservation agreement. We do not hold customers responsible for mechanical failures as suggested above.
