On Jan. 3, 2024 I had an in-office procedure by *******************************. I had been quoted the price of $140 for the procedure and the 2-3 (case depending) follow-up appointments to make sure I was healing appropriately. I purchased all numbing medication and medication prior to the appointment as directed. I was assured that they had checked with my insurance company and this was the only amount I was going to pay. The office did not tell me that it was an estimate or that there was a possibility that it would cost more. About 3 months later, I received an invoice in the mail for $887.91. I called their billing company, Privia, to inquire about the invoice. They instructed me that they could not do anything and to call ****************** practice. The practice has not been back in touch with me and have not resolved anything with me. Their office manager of billing did not speak with me in person on my last office follow-up which was last week. I keep getting invoices with an increase in almost $50 each time. I told ****************** office that I would not be paying this invoice since I was mislead.

We are looking into this and will get back to you soon. Benefits were verified before time of service but BCBS applied a different benefit amount.

I am rejecting this response because: the business has not resolved my invoice. Until my account balance is $0, I will consider this case unresolved. They told me they contacted my insurance company to get a price for my procedure. I paid that price. I should not owe anything else.

      Regards,

The business and I made contact on Friday, June 21st. I consider this case closed with the BBB. The company came down approx. $250 from the original invoice and we set up a payment plan. I am only rejecting this because I am not happy with the "resolution". However, I do not feel that the insurance company will take responsibility nor the ENT so I have unfortunately accepted the payment plan option. Going forward, I was sure to relay my concern for my future visits and when they quote me a price it is different than what I am charged. Usually it is small difference but this time it was a big monetary difference. Thank you BBB for making the business finally look into the matter. The ENT office did tell me that my case was never passed onto the appropriate person. So, I would recommend any new patient in the future to be aware that of being quoting incorrectly as well as having a hard time resolving and receiving any communication when a problem arises.

      Regards,
