I would like to file a complaint against the ************** St. Joseph and Texas A&M Health Network at **************************************************************************************************** for issuing wrong billing and hasn't corrected for over 4 months since the date of service. On Nov 28, 2023, I had an appointment at ************************ with ************************************ to conduct a pap test. A few days later, I got a bill from the clinic, saying that I owed them $82.98 for doing the test. I called Cigna, my health insurance provider, the first time on December 6, 2023 to ask why a bill was issued when it's supposed to be covered by my insurance. ***** confirmed that the pap test should be covered by my insurance, but since the doctor ****** submitted a wrong code for the service, a bill was issued and labeled as a doctor visit, not pap test. ***** told me they would contact the doctor's ****** to get it fixed. On December 13, 2023, I noticed the bill wasn't updated so I called Cigna again. They said that they weren't unable to call the clinic. They called 2-3 times but the calls went to voicemail every time and no one returned their calls. I asked them to call the clinic again with me on the call. It got connected. I talked to ******* at the clinic and she said she would contact the billing department to get it fixed.I still receive a monthly reminder for the mentioned above bill. The last time I called the clinic was Feb 27, 2024. They got no note regarding my case and assumed that the reason for the bill could be because ***** thought that I did the test not on the same date I had my preventive checkup so they put it in as a doctor visit. I told them that's not what ***** told me and not what's going on with my case. She told me she would work with the billing department to correct the issue. I haven't heard back from them since then and up until today, Mar 29, 2024, I still receive a billing request via mail and email.
