Effective 8 july 2002, employee viewed my roof concern and didn't know what to do so she contacted expert with pics and he didn't know what to do. continual calls to rj construction kept stating it wasn't a big problem but would be addressed. i agreed and stated i would be patient. 18 july 2002 rj construction agreed to send roofing expert for review and determination to which no one appeared. continual calls went unanswered until 25 july when roofing expert finally arrived and only viewed the visual problem at the front of the home vice viewing the entire roof and relayed that he had never seen such a problem and would relay this info to his manager who would contact me. i waited till 4 august 2002 to speak with a manager and/or supervisor regarding this issue and to date i have received no response. i sent emails to the boss of rj construction informing him of this matter and he has not responded and i felt i was more than patient waiting for my roof to be repaired and was left with no alternative but to contact the bbb.Initial Complaint

RJ Construction was hired to complete a siding repair on my house on 6/30/2022. I paid 50% (~$7000) of the contract amount for materials. They kept pushing out the completion date week by week and this week. Today (8/2/2022) I reached out to the PM who told me that the business was dissolved and everyone was laid off. I received no option for reimbursement, I received no notification, I received no communication of this issue. I have not been able to get ahold of anyone regarding this.Initial Complaint

I contracted RJ Construction to repair my roof that was leaking, The original work was completed on 10/19/2021. I paid $5530 for the work. The roof still leaks and work again was completed on 1/15/2022. The roof stills leaks and again is being worked on today, 2/16/2022. On all of the work dates, no one from RJ Construction was present and all of the work was completed by different subcontractors. I have tried to contact the general manager to no avail.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/28) */ Contact Name and Title: Michelle ******* Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: ********@rj-construction.com Hi ****, thank you for taking the time to communicate to us why our services did not meet your expectations. We have every desire to address your needs to provide the best solution available. We would like to say we had reasonable steps taken by our general manager who went out to your property to walk you through the issue while the other two times our contractors came out to work on the leak. He then contacted you on three different occasions to schedule an in person visit to further investigate the issue. Our General manager had to go to Dallas for mandatory training, and due to COVID we were short staffed and unable to have a project manager on site at that time. The project was scheduled anyway because there was an active leak, which our GM called to reach out to you about. We did not wish this to be of further inconvenience to you, so the company owner also reached out to offer a personal visit, as well as 50% return of your check. And if a solution was not resolved, then an offer of 100% refund. However, you stated you did not want money back. In regards to the leak, it's highly suspicious that the ongoing leak could be failure from the chimney stones or the rusted chimney cap we addressed to you. Again, we highly appreciate your feedback as it will assist us in becoming better at what we do. Please see attached response Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/03/16) */ We want to try to solve this for you in which we gave you the best solutions we could provide, however the position of the company remains the same, and we understand you remain dissatisfied, but the company did in good faith make a good effort in communicating with you. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/03/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) RJ Construction had three opportunities to resolve my issue. Your proposal for a solution was four and a half months too late, I had a contractor that worked with me to solve my problem before 3/1/22. A contract means nothing to you. If RJ Construction wants to make a good faith effort to resolve this issue, then you will not have a problem sending me a check for $350. Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2022/05/12) */ Our company agrees to refund you the $350 check payment. We first need a mutual release agreement signed by both parties. Will you agree to that? Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2022/05/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I need to see the release agreement first. Business Response /* (4000, 20, 2022/05/20) */ OK, thank you ****, we will get that to you.
