Additional Information for Justscripts

BBB promotes truth in advertising by contacting advertisers whose claims conflict with the BBB Code of Advertising.  These claims may come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints and, competitor challenges.  BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers more clear to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements.  

On December 13, 2022, BBB contacted Justscripts regarding claims regarding claimed results.

BBB Code of Advertising states the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser.  Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast.  Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.  

BBB requested Justscripts substantiate if a typical consumer would receive the savings as advertised and how Justscripts obtains the savings as advertised.  BBB requested Justscripts if a typical consumer cannot expect the advertised results for the business to discontinue the advertised claims.  BBB also requested if the Free Medication is dependent if it is in network and/or generic medication status and to disclose this fact if true. 

BBB also requested if Justscripts is a membership-based service that requires any fees.  If so BBB requested they disclose this fact.

On March 2, 2023 Justscripts responded to BBB's inquiry by stating once a patient is approved into their non-profit Prescription Assistance Programs (PAP) which provides free medicines to qualifying individuals they can expect to receive medications for free for a 12 month period.  Patients must reenroll every year as qualifying criteria must be met every 12 months.  Justscripts also responded that acceptance into any given PAP is dependent on the type of health insurance or prescription coverage a consumer has, their income and annual household size.  

Justscripts also clarified there are no membership fees, however they do charge a onetime nonrefundable administration fee of $350 for a single medication, $500 for 2, or $600 flat fee for 3 or more medications per household.
