I had a stroke on Jan 8, 2022 and hospitalized until Feb 4, 2022 when I was transferred to Concierge Park, a skilled nursing home and rehab center on Eldrige Park. Late evening on Mar 1, 2022 the Director of Admission at Concierge called my wife and informed her that she should come and take me home on Saturday, Mar 5, 2022. My wife came as instructed on Mar 5 but nobody was available to complete paperwork for releasing me thus I was not able to go home. The next day, Sunday, Mar 6, nobody was able to finalize paperwork either so I must stay there, not by choice, for another night. On Monday, Mar 7, 2022 the therapist brought me down the gym like any day during my time there for physical- and occupational therapy sessions, during which the speech therapist came by and made some small talk to me (not therapy by any stretch of imagination!). In May, 2022, Concierge sent us a statement with a line item to charge $300.00 for a private room Mar 6, 2022. Although I thought I should not have to pay for my forced stay due to their delayed paperwork, I decided to pay because I needed to devote time and energy to rehab rather than fighting such charge. Then in June, 2022, Concierge sent me another statement that just has a "Balance Forward" for $305.99. We tried to reach out to them via telephone many days during August to ask about the charge but no one answered the phone. Recently, the Business Director of Concierge got in touch and reminded me that I have a balance on the account due to therapies that I received. I tried to reason that both the room charge and therapy charges were not my choice but she refused to listen and demanded payment. I, therefore, requested and received an itemized statement which shows the following line items: Date Description Charges 03/07/2022 Occupational Therapy $119.72 03/07/2022 Physical Therapy $105.15 03/07/2022 Speech Therapy $81.12 I have paid the above charges but I think it's totally unfair and shady billing.

After reviewing the account, the facility will provide a full refund of the therapy charges.
