Me and my mother shared a bank account with bayou city. My mother passed in August and they froze the account. When I called on the 10 or 15th they told me ****** ******** took the money. I called ****** ******** and the treasury and was informed they did not take the money and my mother was entitled to the money. I called the union back and their story had changed to they froze the account because they didn’t know when my mother had passed. I was told to bring in the death certificate. I brought in the death certificate along with my mothers power of attorney and a letter from the ****** ******** ****** but was told I would be charged for them to read a legal document. I then email the president of the union and asked her to send me the bank procedures because I was getting different days of when I would be able to access my account. She said it would take 120 days because they have to wait and see if ****** ******** would claim the money back. I said fine. In the meantime I closed my private account and removed my 401k and took it to another bank because I did not like their service. A week before December 8 ( which would make the 120 day waiting period) I emailed the president…. No response. I’ve emailed everyone in the bank for an update… no response. I called the bank this pass Friday and asked to speak with Nathan ( the rep who froze the account) he would not get on the phone and said the only person I can speak with is the president. After many phone calls, emails I am still not getting and call backs. I see my money just sitting in the account but know one will communicate with me with what’s going on.Business response

We received a notification of death notice from ****** ******** on 8/10/22. We are required to hold these funds for 120 days for ****** ******** to review for possible reclamation of funds. We notified ***** ***** of the hold procedure as well as provided her documentation straight from the ****** ******** website regarding the reclamation review time period. We did not receive any communications from ****** ******** so the funds were released on 12/12/22, the first business day after the 120 day expiration which was on Saturday, 12/10/22.
