Just finished a 4 session package with Anthony. What a difference in just 4 hours! Anthony and his team have an instinct on what your dog needs and what drives your dog's behavior. Anthony also gives the pet owner training (sometimes they need it more than the dog) so you leave with the skills to continue the training at home. Thank you Anthony...so glad I found What-A-Canine!

Absolutely AMAZING! What-a-canine truly has a gift for working with these pups! The staff were so friendly, they absolutely adored my dog. And he loved everyone there! Which is such and incredible sign! My boy went from overly energetic, pulling the leash, jumping, play biting, etc. to loose leash walking, no longer jumping, and he now has phenomenal place training! I highly recommend what-a-canine for any and all of your dog training needs!

So happy we have Anthony to show us how to walk and socialize our 6 month old Golden Retriever. Every time we met with Anthony we learned how to train ourselves to communicate clearly with our dog. And the quick results always amazed us. Each session addressed certain goals with our dog and from there we learned targeted ways to get the desired results. He helped us with puppy biting, door manners, peaceful walking, and impulse control. When we walk our dog now we have a calm and pleasant experience. We feel more confident on how to communicate with our dog the right behavior regarding greeting strangers and dogs in public and at our home. We learned about how too many dopamine hits can create inattention with dogs. Meaning your environment is important. And it is important to know when and how to praise while training. To learn from Anthony is a wonderful and worthwhile experience.

What an amazing experience! My 2-year-old rescue had so many issues before Anthony helped us. She had separation anxiety, severe aggression with new people, and continually stayed in a state of anxiety. He trained me and my dog in four sessions and our world has been transformed into order, peace, and enjoyment. His no-nonsense, scientific approach taught me how to earn my dog's respect and ultimately take her stress away. He truly cares about his clients and will do whatever is necessary to help you reach your goals. I cannot recommend him more. If you have a dog with behavioral problems, don't hesitate to call WHAT-A CANINE.

I must praise Anthony, the exceptional trainer at What-A-Canine. Our journey began with Missy, our sixteen-month-old pup, being unruly during walks—lunging and showing leash aggression towards people, dogs, and cars. After just one in-home session, Missy's behavior on walks transformed completely. I was genuinely amazed. Impressed by the results, I chose What-A-Canine's "Board and Train" package. After returning home, I noticed newfound confidence in Missy. Her response to basic commands was instantaneous. Anthony taught me how to communicate effectively with Missy and use the appropriate amount of praise to encourage her obedience. Yes, there is such a thing as too much praise. All without using clickers or treats! Completing a four-package training session became essential due to my upcoming orthopedic surgery. I worried that Missy, now 19 months old, might inadvertently trip me at home. Anthony took Missy and my training to the next level. Utilizing dog-friendly stores and public spaces, he taught Missy (and me) how to heel with me in a wheelchair, using a walker, and walking with crutches. Amidst new noises, strangers, and dogs, each training phase built upon the last, all under Anthony's expert guidance. Missy's confidence and maturity grew significantly. I felt assured that my energetic furry companion wouldn't cause any accidents post-surgery. And she didn't. When I used a wheelchair, she remained by my side, matching my pace. With crutches, she stayed behind me, stopping when I did. Her impeccable behavior made her an ideal recovery companion. I am sincerely thankful to Anthony for his expertise. This training significantly reduced stress during my recovery around an energetic dog. I wholeheartedly recommend What-A-Canine's services, especially for those with temporary or permanent disabilities. But honestly, for anyone seeking a well-behaved and balanced forever furry friend.

Our 3 dogs were ruling our lives and stressing us out! Barking at the fence line, fighting with each other at feedings, uncontrollable freaking out at the front windows when a delivery came or when an old man and his 5 pound dog walked by, so we needed MAJOR HELP! In comes Anthony. He was referred to us by my wife's good friend who experienced great success with his services. I did not feel that four one hour sessions would make a big difference and WAS I WRONG! On day one he came in like All business. No nonsense. Big cowboy hat. He assessed our dogs in the first 15 mins. and immediately started teaching us how to break our dogs' bad behavior (and our bad pet owners' habits). After the first in home session, our dogs stopped responding aggressively to people walking up to our door or walking past our house. AFTER THE FIRST SESSION! It was AMAZING. His techniques are simple, yet so effective. Over the 4 sessions, Anthony not only trained our dogs, more importantly, he trained my family and I on dog psychology and how humans need to give dogs structure, rules, and correct reinforcement. Over the course of 4 one-hour weekly sessions, our dogs were literally transformed and we now FINALLY have control of our house and have regained our peace of mind. After the third session, we had over 16 people at our house for Father's Day and our guest were AMAZED at the transformation of our dogs. They could not believe their eyes and they constantly commented on our dogs' good behavior. We are still working with our dogs and reinforcing the desire behaviors with them, which is important as the mission continues, but life in OUR HOUSE is so, so, so much calmer and happier with well-behaved dogs. And I think that our dogs are happier too! They too seem less stressed out. NO regrets hiring Anthony with What-A-Canine. Well, one regret...that we did not hire him sooner!

Mr. Anthony worked with our busy schedules to come to the house late for our dog’s training. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, but he also a great teacher to both me and my husband and to Levi, our dog. He specializes in dealing with GSDs, which was a huge plus. Our dog was way more calm after just one hour. He also trains adults on how to keep up the training for your dog. Overall, this was an outstanding experience!

Anthony is an absolute wonderful trainer. I have been to many trainers in the Houston area. He is one of a kind trainer and is expert in dog training. His past military background in dog handling provides even more insight to your dog behavior. He truly cares about every person and their relationship to their dog. He will help transform your dog. My dog was a fear based rescue and I been to three different trainers in Houston area for over 2 years in one lesson Anthony transformed my dog. Now we walk around the neighborhood without any issues before it would be a major issue as my dog was reactive and now we watch other neighbors try to hold their untrained dogs. Anthony is a blessing and truly cares about his company and job. He will take your calls and text and even give you extra time on your lessons. I have had other trainers who would not talk with you if you have issues outside of your training session. Anthony will go above and beyond to make sure you and your dog trust and respect each other. This man is the best in the Houston area. I should have went to him earlier instead of driving over two years to west Houston. He will teach you and your pet and will be hands on and very patient with you both. I absolutely would recommend him to everyone. I can’t thank him enough for how he has transformed my dog and his relationship with me.
