We contacted Smart Choice Locksmith on Jan 23, 2023 for installation of new residential locks. Locksmith, "*****", arrived to perform the work at 3:30pm on Jan 23, 2023 and departed at 7:00pm on Jan 23, 2023 for a total of 3.5 hours. He charged us for 7 hours of labor at $25.00 per hour. He did not have "better" locks in his company van and although only 3 deadbolts, 3 door locks, and 1 lockset were required and requested at the initial phone contact he had to make several trips to locate the hardware. His initial quote was for "around" $500.00, but slightly more for the better hardware. The workmanship was amateur and sloppy and he left debris uncollected including hardware such as screws strewn about. At 7:00pm he presented us with a bill for over $930.00. Attempts at reconciliation were met with total indifference and even mild amusement. We consider his actions and charges as a direct attempt at bilking senior citizens and are seeking a reasonable settlement.
