I feel like I was racially profiled today. I have always ordered online for store pickup. Went right away to get my order when it was ready. As I always do, I went inside the store found the bin that my 1pkg of tea light candles were in. As I went to walk out the store an assoc that was checking out a customer stopped and hurriedly came to me to ask for my proof of purchase. I said no one has ever asked me before. You stopped helping that customer to address me? Oh its our ********************** policy. What? I said Ok let me get it. She then nastily says wow never mind and walked away. I will absolutely NOT shop at Michaels again nor will any of my family or friends.Review from Amy S

Require pin number for purchase, which I was hesitant to provide given so many credit card skimming cases. Poor customer service. When I called corporate to complain, the customer service was even worse. All I was given was literally the person reading from a script and then I was hung up on. I hadn't been to a Michaels location and a couple of years and now I'm sure I wasn't missing anything!Michaels Stores, Inc. Response

While tapping your card instead of inserting or swiping it can often bypass the need for a PIN, there are instances where entering a PIN is necessary due to specific transaction criteria determined by the banking institutions involved. While we strive to make the payment process as smooth as possible, these requirements are essential for maintaining secure transactions for our valued guests. Someone went online to purchase me a $250 gift card sent via email to me twice and we've never received the gift card. When calling the customer service number they route you out of the country while you wait on hold a long time then reroute you because they can't handle the issue back to someone here. And while waiting on hold longer they end up telling you that they have to escalate it all the while you keep getting all these case numbers! I would not recommend ever trying to purchase a gift card from this company online. There's absolutely no customer service I even called the corporate office in *****. I'm wondering if the CEO Mr ******** knows exactly how the customers are being treated. Purchasing $250 gift card online has been a nightmare I spent more than 4 hours today during my work day trying to get money refunded back or the gift card. It still has not been resolved. Michael's in store has a great art section that I love to purchase things in but this I think has put a really bad taste in my mouth. What a nice gesture the card was for someone to get for me to end up it being this way!!! ??Michaels Stores, Inc. Response

The Michael's store front in my area is wonderful, however, ordering online is a bit of a challenge and the customer support is not all there. In order to place an online order, one must sign up for PayPal and pay that way. If one were to try using their card online, the transaction will be declined and a pending balance will created on the users card last 5+ business days. In our situation, we had placed an order for several items. When placing the order, we met with an error code. We contacted Michael's customer service about the issue as we had more than enough funds in our account to make the purchase once, but not twice. We were met with an email several paragraphs long none specifically addressing our issue. We remained patient as we waited for the pending charge to drop. By the time the pending charge dropped, some of the items we were hoping to order were no longer available.Michael's did not make an effort to help us reserve items or work through the issue outside of a lengthy broad sweeping email. Not a deal breaker for us as customers because or local ********************** is wonderful, we will exercise caution with Michael's online in the future however.Michaels Stores, Inc. Response

May 30th 2023. I needed to return a product to Michael's. The date of purchase I called Michaels #**** to have two Brother label maker refills at the front desk. They were the wrong cartridges. Upon return, I was informed by *********(Esme), store manager, they were on clearance and could not be returned. She did offer to give me in store credit. I asked her where the tape runner refill cartridges were and It turned out to be the wrong aisle I went back to the register for help. Esme looked and found the label maker refills. The boxes opened like a deck of cards. No one would have noted that it was opened and I would know for sure if I had the right product. I began to pick up a box and **** said if I opened it I had to buy it. I asked her what refill I needed as I had my Brother label maker with me. She picked it out and handed it to me. I opened up the box and it was the wrong cartridge. I put it back in the box which no one would have known was ever opened!! I picked up another box and opened it up while Esme eagle-eyed me. I opened 2 boxes they were the wrong cartridges. I put them back and no one would have ever known they were opened. I no longer wanted to put up with her hostile attitude I told her I would never be returning back. She stated "that's okay we have plenty of customers" as i walked out of the store. That day I phoned Michaels spoke with **** he gave me the case#****** store #****. Informed me I would receive a call back. June 2nd I Phoned Michaels again ***** stated someone would call me back. June 5th spoke with ***** . June 16th **** transferred me to ***** his supervisor. Stated **** the district manager would call me within 24 to 48 hours. No response back from Michaels. June 20th I spoke with ******** stated she would have it transferred to a higher department they would call me. June 20th **** informed me **** would return my call. I also spoke with ****** he sent an email to **** to return my call in 24 to 48 hours. I gave up until now.Review from Heather F

This store has horrible management and human resource practices. They seem to take advantage of the minors that work for this store. Its extremely sad that because these workers are young and not as knowledgeable about their labor rights that the management team here uses that in their favor. The human resource department does even seem to care because they do not respond to inquiries. Horrible management practices and not a great place to work if you are under 18.Review from Tammy P

Do not sign up for their rewards if you do not shop there often because you will get unwanted emails and they will not stop. They lie that they remove your email and then start sending emails 1 time a week instead of every quarter or 1 time a year..........It's as if they are angry and start harassing you with their emails to get back at you for requesting them to stop! Since I have asked for over 3 years now and finally last week someone from the cs **** said they removed my email, I can see that was a lie. I mean I even changed my email to a less used email account and I still get bombarded in my old email! and they never closed the account as I requested last week. the cs rep was so sure she "helped" me. Nope.......I never shop here either
