I received a filing notice from the *** via mail. It was pertaining to my new LLC business. I followed the instructions and ended up paying $299 for a filing fee that was unecessary. I thought it was a requird *** payment but it was a scam by a company called National Filing Service. The charge occured on 7/21/24. Unfortunately, I learned after the fact that this company is a scam.Initial Complaint

This website is a scam and based to look off of a .gov ********* submitted for a *** form, resident agent, and EIN - all over charged and NONE provided. When emailed disputing the charges and asking for refunds they said - "check your spam".They did speak to refunds on the *** But still disputing charges for LLC "company formation"and tax id / ein request.****** learned to do all of your homework before trying to make sure everything is legal and having a verified company help with the forms.Initial Complaint

On Friday, 05/27/2024, I went online to obtain an *** for my recently deceased Mothers estate. I needed this in order to open an estate bank account. I googled the *** SS-4 form *** *** Tax ID ********************** company popped up first. Their website is a total scam, now I know. It looks exactly like the *** website and after entering all of my personal information, it asked for a credit card number. I hesitated for a minute as I thought it was supposed to be free but given the situation and my need for the *** I went ahead and paid. Come to find out this was not the *** official website and I could have obtained the *** for free. This website is very misleading. This should be against the law and they should be shut down. I have tried numerous times to contact them with absolutely no response. My emails bounced back and were not deliverable. A voice message had no response. I want a full refund and wish for all my information to be deleted from this website.Customer response

SCAM alert! The website is designed to look very similar to the *** website, with the exact information requested as the *** in the same format. I tried to contact them directly after the charge to the credit card to stop any activity on my behalf, with absolutely no response. No fee is necessary for the filing for an EIN number, but when you ****** EIN number, these scammers have site names that LOOK like official *** sites. Their entire business is a complete scam, as they provided NO FURTHER SERVICE beyond the information you already entered into what you think is an *** site. Customer ********************** is absolutely worthless to even try, but they will be quick to respond to your credit card dispute.Business response

On Sept 29, 2022 at 10:50 AM CST **************** purchased our Standard Delivery service in the amount of $277. We fulfilled his order and successfully obtained and delivered his EIN to him via email on Sept 29, 2022 at 11:24 AM CST.
Prior to **************** filing a complaint with the BBB on Nov 30, *********************************************************************** express any dissatisfaction with our service. However, on Oct 30, 2022 we filed a chargeback rebuttal in regards to a chargeback **************** filed against our company on Oct 29, 2022 for "Merchandise/Services Not Received". Again, our service was fulfilled to **************** per our Terms of Service. In regards to **************** not being able to contact us, he can do so from the contact us page of our website by filling out and submitting a form or calling us on our customer support line. We communicate with numerous clients by email and phone daily.
Our website clearly states, "We are not affiliated with the *** or any other government agency. You can obtain your own EIN from the *** directly for no fee, but not with the value added services we provide." Our services are clearly explained on our home and services and pricing pages.
Our company has worked with tens of thousands of satisfied clients. We communicate with the *** on behalf of our clients on a daily basis. Over the past several years, we've only had a few complaints filed with the BBB and all of those complaints have been successfully resolved and/or closed to date. I am rejecting this response because: I googled obtaining an *** EIN, and this website had a very similar web address as the *** that I had looked up previously. I knew the *** site doesn't charge, but the fine print on the website was difficult to read on a handheld device. I called this company when the bank notified me of a charge via text message, which is usually within 10 minutes of the transaction. Nobody from the company returned my call, so I assumed they canceled the transaction. I searched my email for an email from this company regarding any EIN transaction, which there was no such email. I searched the *** site for the business name I selected, and no business was found under that name. When I tried to file with the ***, they stated that I had to call them to create this business. I reviewed my bank statement, found the charge, and called the number on the credit card charge, and again nobody responded. I filed the bank dispute with the information I had at the time, as I have never had this many issues obtaining a refund from any company. After looking at the invoice that they provided the bank, the transaction was completed in 34 minutes, so it is very likely the reason why they never responded to any of my calls. I have since seen many statements of other dissatisfied customers with similar stories about this company.I kindly request a refund, as the consumer should have the option to cancel a transaction that wasn't intended.

On 11/29/2022 I selected which I thought was the *** website only to find out it was not. I paid $277.00 for an EIN number to open an account for my recently deceased mother when in fact their web pages were pretty much identical to the *** website i had recently visited. If I was not under the impression that I was on the *** website I would not have purchased. I need a refund.They did provide an EIN# but now I am not sure it is legit. I can't get through to the *** by phone. I called my bank and I can't stop payment. I do not have the money to throw away for a FREE service. Please help!Business response

On Nov 29, 2022 at 10:30 AM CST ************ purchased our Instant Delivery service in the amount of $277. We fulfilled her order and successfully obtained and delivered her *** to her via email on Nov 29, 2022 at 10:37 AM CST. The *** we obtained for ************ is valid as it was assigned by the ***.
Prior to ************ filing a complaint with the BBB on Nov 29, ************************************************** express any dissatisfaction with our service. Although all of our services were fulfilled to ************ as agreed upon, we have issued her a full refund in the amount of $277 on Monday, December 5. ************ was sent an email informing her of this refund and it should also be reflective on her credit card statement within 3-5 business days or less depending on how her financial institution processes refunds.
Our website clearly states, "We are not affiliated with the *** or any other government agency. You can obtain your own *** from the *** directly for no fee, but not with the value added services we provide."

This company falsely advertised that they were on the *** website and charge me $247 for EIN#. After not hearing anything from them, no confirmation email or anything. I did some digging and found that an EIN# is free through the ***. If I was not under the impression that I was on the *** website I would not have purchased. I need a refund.Business response

On Oct 7, 2022 at 9:50 AM CST ********************** purchased our Standard Delivery service in the amount of $247. We fulfilled her order and successfully obtained and delivered her EIN to her via email on Oct 7, 2022 at 10:11 AM CST.
Prior to ********************** filing a complaint with the BBB we do not have any record of her contacting our company by email or phone to express any dissatisfaction with our service.
************************** desired settlement listed on her complaint is a refund for our service fee. On Oct 24, 2022 at 11:38 AM CST a refund in the full dollar amount of $247 was issued to ********************** and she was also sent an email with more details regarding her refund.
Our website clearly states, we provide document preparation and filing services and that we are not affiliated with the *** or any other government agencies.

Website poses as the *** with identical pictures, wording, disclaimers and website. It has paid to fall ahead of the *** website in searches. Obtaining an EIN is a free service online through the ***, this is taking advantage of people. There is no way to contact them. They linked their merchant information to a law firm who has no idea who this company is. I only found the number on this site and tried leaving several messages. No one has gotten back to me. I have tried requesting a refund with no luck. This site is intended to trick people and take their money and private information.Business response

On May 6, 2022 at 6:12 PM CST ************** purchased our Standard Delivery service in the amount of $247. We fulfilled her order and successfully obtained and delivered her EIN to her via email on May 6, 2022 at 8:39 PM CST.
Prior to ************** filing a complaint with the BBB on May 9, ******************************************************* phone to request a refund. Although all of our services were fulfilled to ************** as agreed upon, we have issued her a full refund today on May 13, 2022 at 9:59 AM CST in the amount of $247. ************** was sent an email informing her of this refund and it should also be reflective on her credit card statement within 3-5 business days or less depending on how her financial institution processes refunds.
Our website clearly states, "We act as a third party designee providing assistance with obtaining a Federal Tax ID or EIN to be used for business purposes. We are not affiliated with the *** or any other government agency. We act exclusively as a private entity on behalf of clients to simplify the entire filing process."
In regards to ************** not being able to contact us, she can do so from the Contact Us page of our website by filling out and submitting a form or calling our customer support line. We communicate with numerous clients by email and phone daily. None of our merchant information is linked to any law firm as ************** states.

Website impersonates the IRS.Filed for an EIN with this website and got a screenshot of the completed webpage with no official documentation. Email address is a no-reply and bounces right back. There is no way other way to contact this company aside from the phone number provided here, and the business address is a Pack and Ship mailbox in Longview, **.Furthermore, the business is not registered with the **************. Without proper paperwork an EIN is useless. Also, there is no way to verify that **** and ********************* (the owners) haven't listed themselves as company officers or people with rights to the business entity. On Apr 29, 2022 at 12:42 PM CST ************************ purchased our Instant Delivery service in the amount of $277. We fulfilled his order and successfully obtained and delivered his EIN to him via email on Apr 29, 2022 at 12:52 PM CST.
Prior to ************************ filing a complaint with the BBB we do not have any record of him contacting our company by email which he can do from the Contact Us page of our website by filling out and submitting a form. However, we do have record of ************************ calling our company and leaving an angry voicemail while all of our EIN specialists were busy assisting other clients. **************************** voicemail indicated he was angry and he wanted his money returned to him immediately.
As a result, **************************** transaction fee of $277 was voided out and he was sent an email informing him of such on Apr, 29, 2022 at 2:25 PM CST. Since **************************** transaction fee of $277 was voided out he is no longer considered our client and as a result all of his EIN application information which he submitted on our website was deleted from our records.
**************************** desired settlement listed on his complaint is (1) a refund which has already been granted as indicated above in this response; and (2) full access to EIN paperwork which is not possible due to the fact that all of his EIN application information which he submitted on our website was deleted from our records since he is no longer considered our client.
