I was contacted by ************************* with Core 4, he showed up after a storm and offered to tarp the damage to my roof. I asked what the cost would be and was told there was no charge. Moving forward with the insurance, I decided not to use Core4 and had the work completed by another company. I was then contacted by ******* on 04-21-23 advising that since I had chosen another roofing contractor, they would be billing me for the emergency tarping and sending the invoice electronically.I disputed this bill because I specifically asked what the fee for the service was *before* it was completed and was told there was no charge. It was not disclosed when the service was done that there was no charge only if I chose Core4 as the contractor. I received a call from ******************* and was told that they were aware that I had "committed insurance fraud" and were going to inform my insurance company that I had misrepresented my claim, having roofing repairs done instead of replacing the roof. I informed **** that they were mistaken, he continued by saying that it was fraudulent activity to not pay a deductible on an insurance claim. Core4 is not privy to the details of my claim, who did the work, what work was done, nor how much I paid out-of-pocket for the service that was rendered by another contractor. I have submitted all the necessary documentation as required by my insurance for payment. I don't believe they are entitled to compensation for work they did under the pretense that it was free. If they were concerned about compensation, they should have charged a fee for services rendered, with the caveat that pre-paid fees would be deducted once the full contract was awarded. Admittedly, my tone and word choice may have been harsh, but I was incensed by their representative falsely accused me of committing insurance fraud. When I asked the caller's name, he refused to provide it, giving the reason that I had said their contact was harrassing in nature.
