I received hair services from ***************************** in this salon. ******** is a talented loctitian. However, I received extensions which she was not trained to do properly. She charged $600 for this service. I went to 3 different loctitians in different cities and they all stated the locs/extensions were not done properly. As a result, I will have to have the whole process redone, losing $600. I reached out to ********* She did not have the integrity to admit she was not trained properly and to refund the funds.

      Business response

      03/27/2023

Hello this is *************************, the owner of Knot Just Locs.  I received this complaint involving a loctician/braider ******************************  She is a independent contractor, renting a chair in my salon.  She has been here for over 2 years and we work in a very small salon.  So we can see and hear everything.  ******** is very good at what she does and never had a complaint about none of her work.

I faintly remember back in January 2023 when the complaintive first got her hair started.
Per ******** she explained how she was going to install and what hair she was going to purchase to match client's hair color.  Per ******** they both agreed to everything, and she did her hair.  From what we saw, and like
all of ********s other clients, that she did the same method for loc extensions. She walked out very happy.  ******** even went to her social media and sent us pictures of the lady enjoying her hair.  ***n she also sent us a video of her hair when she was done as well as other people pictures and videos that she did with this method.

******** has always used this method. Me personally I'm old school and do not keep up with all of these current loc extension methods, However I did go to different social media platforms.  ***re I saw bunches of different videos using this method, as well as others. Some call it knotless loc extension wrapping method.  I saw so many videos that I added the wrapping method to my list of services but without extensions.

So per ******** she has not heard anything from her until now, several months later.  She said that the lady moved out of town or something and that she went to 3 other locticians to get her 1st retwist.  ***n those 3 different locticians did not know what to do with her hair. In my personal experience of over 12 years specializing in all locs. *** 1st grey area with this is the client cannot neglect her locs and wait 3 months to get a retwist.  So there is no telling how much new growth there is or what her hair looks like.  *** standard is around 4 weeks to get your regular hair retwist maintenance. 2nd ***re are generally three ways a loctician can retwist someone's locs, It does not matter if they have extensions or not. Its still the same.  ***y can retwist using palm roll method, interlocking method, or needle method. So im not sure if the people she went to knows how to maintenance or ever seen or did this method of extensions.

But in 4 weeks especially with extensions.  *** client has to go back to person or anyone that can maintenance them because extensions has slippage and have to be constantly maintained in order for them to turn out correctly.  So like I said its been so long that its hard to pinpoint whats going on with her extensions by now.

So this is all I do know.  Please let me know if you need anything else.  I do have ********'s contact information if you need it.

      Thanks
