We own our homes, but pay fees to CMA to manage the property. There are some VP managers (e.g. *******) who are ineffective or worse. A) mice ran from the area she manages to our property even though there were no mice ever for the many years we lived here. ******* sent us a rude email. B) ******* cant manage her direct report who is very tardy in getting things done. Work orders, emails, calls sit there for many months. E.g. there were large cracks in the brick and rain was getting the walls wet. Finally Candaces team gets some company to come to inspect, but the company would not even provide a quote for the work for nearly a month. Candaces email was zilch, not her fault. C) Several small pieces of wood were decaying or molding near the roofline. After waiting several months, ******* insists on using a contractor that does a joke of a job and ***** the ****, shows up randomly, but wants to charge something like $2,200. The contractor offers free vacations for certain amount of money spent. *****, who gets the vacation? Why not hire a more competent or cheaper contractor instead? ******* does an anemic job of getting the contractor to fix their work. ******* is scary. The worst was related to a foundation problem and a huge hardwood tree that is within 10 feet of us. ******* sent us an absurd email that showed attempts to get one foundation company to contradict itself and lie about common knowledge about tree dangers to foundations. It was gross abuse of power to influence what that foundation company said, CMA clout and *** board to give lucrative businesses to them vs one homeowner. And we overpay an awful lot to the *** to pay CMA for all this mismanagement.

I totally concur with ********'s review and comments. We keep our yard clean, maintain our grass well, do not park 10 cars on our driver way and the way, do not leave toys outside, yet these guys selective pick our home and send us violation notices all the time. Some streets in our community look like ghetto's with basketball hoops on the road, Toys and bikes left on the road side, lights as they like, grass and weed wildly grown. the person hired by CMA randomly stops on every visit outside the same home, takes pictures and we get violation notices. These guys are abosultely prejudiced and bully one person. Absolutely shameful. I wish our aweful HOA gets rid of these guys.

Dear *********************:We applaud your dedication to maintaining your property! Your evident care and efforts help preserve property values and community standards. As much as we appreciate your commitment, we also support our compliance staff and deny any claims of biased or unfair treatment during inspections. CMA is a third-party management company hired by your board of directors to help everyone in your community uphold your associations policies. Our impartiality and fiduciary duty are to the communitys overall well-being. Our staff, trained professionals, adhere to industry standards and local, state, and federal law. CMAs contract requires our staff to conduct regularly scheduled on-site compliance inspections. We alert homeowners when exterior upkeep does not meet the standards set forth in the guidelines. Your associations violation and fining policies aim to prevent penalties and take time to escalate. This is why you may see violations at other properties unrectified for some time. Not all homeowners respond quickly to violation notices; some reach the fine level before they take action. Importantly, staff are paid hourly and are in no way incentivized to distribute notices. They simply report exterior maintenance issues based on objective observations. Further, CMA does not track personal homeowner data related to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, veteran status, source of income, or any other bases under the law. After reviewing your complaint, we found no unusual patterns in violation reports for your community or on your own account. Recent notices, like your reminder to mow your lawn, are common, especially after heavy spring rains which cause plants to grow more quickly. You werent targeted; others in your neighborhood received similar reminders. We also see from your communication with staff that you were on vacation recently, which may have contributed to a delay in your landscaping upkeep. Staff automatically close mowing violations upon their next inspection if they see the issue has been corrected, a common outcome. Our archive also shows that CMA staff have expressed empathy for your feelings related to violations and offered to speak with you via phone call to discuss further any concerns or questions. Perhaps a chat re: the timing of compliance inspections, etc. would be helpful? The offer stands.Again, we admire your care for the upkeep of your property! While the sending and receiving of violation notices may not be pleasant, the goal is not to be punitive. Rather, the process helps homeowners uphold their associations standards and keep the neighborhood looking its best.

RTI / Community Management Associates, Inc. are discriminatory towards clients. Homeowners who do not maintain properties according to by-laws are given free passes. Homeowners that actually take care of their properties are constantly harassed. Company does not respond to emails from homeowners. Company has an agenda against certain people.
