We took our vehicle to this dealership because of a recall on an AC motor that could potentially catch fire. The AC was working when we took it in but after they supposedly fixed it they said that there were bad burned wires and now it doesn’t work. They refused to fix it and their employee *** was very rude.Business response

Customer brought in their 2015 Lincoln Navigator with 186,964 miles for us to perform a climate control blower motor replacement under a factory recall. This was done and when attempting to connect new blower motor it was determined that in order to complete the repair a resistor and wiring harness (approximatly $600) would be required to be replaced. We contacted the factory for approval and it was declined. We suggested that the customer contact the factory directly as they might be able to get a different answer. So far we have not gotten any update.

I am rejecting this response because: My AC was working perfectly until this dealership broke it or burned wires which was the whole purpose of the recall. The purpose of the recall was so that wires would not burn and cause a fire. Now the wires are supposedly burned and I have no AC. Now they want me to pay $600 for something that is clearly their fault.

We are still working with factory on the customers behalf to reverse their decision declining the repair.
Once we hear we will notify the customer ASAP. Due to the age and mileage of the customers vehicle
the factory normally will not extend repair coverage. We are trying to appeal this position.

Jim Bass Ford has been successful in appealing to Ford to cover two parts necessary to connect the replacement air conditioning blower motor that was the subject of a factory recall. Should there be any additional parts/labor necessary to further repair the customers vehicle, that cost would be the customers responsibility. Jim Bass Ford has made attempts to contact and have left messages for the customer but have not been successful.Business response
