I purchased a Guardsman 5 year gold complete plus furniture protection plan for a sectional I bought from Belfort furniture in February 2020. My contract specifically states in section 9.2 that the plan provides coverage for one incident of household pet damage (breaks, teeth, and claws) per furniture piece. I had originally filed a claim for this piece of furniture several months ago due to cat scratches, but missed the 30 day cutoff window to finish the claim due to my mother being in the hospital. Therefore, nothing was done and no repairs/replacements were made. Guardsman is denying my current claim stating the one time I filed a complaint counts as my replacement per the contract wether the piece is replaced or not. I spoke with someone at Guardsman on the phone today and they advised that the claim is being denied because I already filed a claim for cat scratches, despite them never replacing or repairing the piece. I do not see anything in the contract that explains this. There is literally no place in the contract that states that if you make a claim due to pet damage you can never make a claim for pet damage again wether the piece is serviced or not. I purchased the warranty with a sofa iI bought from ******* February 22 and this is the second issue I have had to file a claim on. The first one Guardsman refused- torn seam. This one is the motor stopped working in the laying position. The claim was filed on June 28th and nothing from the warranty company. I called twice- the first time ***** said I will get a call from a supervisor by the end of the work day. The second ,***** said maybe 24 hours. It has been over 24 hours and no call. I paid over $500 for the warranty and and $3500 for the sofa I am very concerned that this will be denied AGAIN
