On the afternoon of November 29, 2022 I took my vehicle for a tire repair at Rios Tire shop. I arrived at the shop with a spare. I requested that my original tire be patched, but was told that could not be repaired, so I agreed to purchase a used tire and was quoted $55. The tire seemed to be successfully mounted and I went on my way. Around 6PM that evening, I drove the car to pick up my daughter from work, when exited the car, I did smell gas fumes, faintly but didnt bother to investigate as I assumed it was because I was low on gas. About a 2 hours later, when fueling the car, gas started pouring out of the tank on the same side that the tire repair was done on earlier that day. I was unable to drive the car as it was a hazard and had to have it towed back to my residence. I was able to get photos of the damage while the car was being released. The following day, I contacted Rios Tire shop and ask to speak with a manager or owner, a man answered stating he was the owner, but as I calmly explained my misfortune, he then claimed he did not speak English and handed the phone back to his employee. ****, I was asked to drive the vehicle to the location, to which I refused. I provided the photos of the damage and the receipt for my purchase the day before to the cell phone of the employee, who stated that the owner would review and get back with me. But did not. I have been without transportation since that day and have lost the potential earnings I receive from Lyft not to mention a $61 repair has now turned into$3,100 repair. In order to get the tank repaired its going to cost $3,100 based on a quote I received from another local mechanic shop. I have tried to resolve this issue with the local business owners, but they refuse to accommodate and told me now on numerous occasions theres nothing they can do. I find this grossly unfair and only want to be compensated for the added damages, but have found zero resolve.
