On 6/7, works from 247 garage door opening came to fix our garage door. We had not used them before. Within 2 weeks of fixing it the door broke again, and it was clear that the work was wrong (not poorly performed, although it was certainly that too, but actually wrong). We asked for a refund but received none and then saw a myriad of negative reviews. We had to pay $1300 more to fix it.Initial Complaint

I found ND Garage by plugging in ###-###-#### (the number on my invoice) and found 22 1-star reviews. I'm not the first person to be taken for a ride by this company. Less than two years ago, 24/7 Garage Door (new name under which they are operating) replaced my garage cables. They claimed their product and work were “under warranty.” I was out of town when my garage door came off track. Naturally, I called 24/7 Garage Door since the cables were under warranty. The tech they dispatched said it wasn’t a “cable issue” and charged me $350 – a rate I negotiated down from $450 – to do a “tune-up” and to close my garage door. I started scratching my head when he said I needed a new motor that he could replace for $890. But it didn’t end there. He said I also needed a new extension and several other items. When he said, “I can also replace the cables,” I paused. Clearly, there was an issue with the cables (that were supposed to be under warranty) and I wanted another set of eyes on the situation. He closed my garage door but told me not to open it because it would come off track. Not sure what I paid him to do. The following morning, I had another company out to assess the issue. Indeed, the “under warranty” cables were in distress; they were too short and not installed properly. The new company sent me photos of the worn-out cables. The motor I needed was $425 (installed), which was 50% less than what X was trying to charge me. They gave me a professional Quickbooks estimate which included a line-by-line breakdown of all parts and associated fees. I called 24/7 Garage Door to report their tech and to ask for a refund since he didn’t fix anything or replaced the distressed cables. 24/7 Garage Door strung me along for a month, saying they’d refund me a portion of the amount I was charged. Today, I was told they would not refund anything. I don’t write reviews. However, my experience with 24/7 Garage Door is unacceptable, dishonest, and unethical.
